In recent years, prefabricated dishes have grwn rapidly ppular in China. These are pre-cked, seasned,
and packaged meals that require little t n preparatin, ffering a quick and cnvenient dining ptin withut
      sacrificing majr taste r nutritin.
As peple grw increasingly busier, time fr cking has becme a rare resurce. Prefabricated dishes address

fd spilage. Alng with precise temperature cntrl and bacteria-killing techniques that ensure safety and quality,
it is ultimately the fundamental demand fr time-saving slutins in a nnstp wrld that serves as the primary
driving frce fr their widespread acceptance.
Hwever, the rise f prefabricated dishes is nt withut cncerns. Health issues remain a primary

In a Tky wrkshp, 72-year-ld ptter Hirshi Tanaka sits bent ver a spinning wheel, his hands shaping a
lump f clay (粘土) int a teacup. Outside, yung peple line up, phnes in hand, waiting t take phts f the
prcess. This scene, nce rare, is nw cmmn acrss Asia and Eurpe: traditinal crafts — pttery, weaving,
hand-dyed textiles — are enjying a surprising revival, even as digital tls cntrl daily life.
Why are peple drawn t these slw, labr-intensive practices? Psychlgists pint t “digital fatigue”: the
cnstant flw f emails, messages, and scial media updates leaves many peple desiring activities that demand
fcus. Unlike scrlling thrugh a screen, crafting requires patience. A single ceramic bwl might take days t mld,
fire, and glaze. “It’s the ppsite f instant satisfactin,” says Lndn-based craft histrian Elena Ruiz. “That’s
      exactly its appeal.”
This revival isn’t just abut nstalgia (怀旧的). Mdern craftsmen are cmbining ld techniques with new
ideas. In Flrence, Italy, a third-generatin weaver uses 17th-century weaving machines t create fabrics fr luxury
brands, but adds patterns inspired by street art. In Seul, a paper-maker integrates recycled cffee grunds int
traditinal hanji paper, making it bth ec-friendly and trendy. These innvatins keep crafts relevant, attracting
yunger cnsumers wh value uniqueness ver mass prductin.
Critics argue that the trend risks turning crafts int mere “artistic prducts”. They wrry that wrkshps
      第 7页/共 13页
becme pht spts rather than places f learning, and that the pressure t create “Instagram-wrthy” pieces
weakens the depth f traditinal skills. Yet supprters argue that any attentin is gd. “If a teenager buys a
hand-wven scarf because it lks cl nline, they might later ask abut hw it was made,” ntes Ruiz. “Interest
is the first step tward preservatin.”
Fr Tanaka, the newfund ppularity is a chance t pass n his knwledge. “My father thught pttery wuld
die with machines,” he says, wiping clay frm his aprn. “But yung peple nw want t learn. They see it’s nt
just abut making things — it’s abut making meaning.”
      12. Why des the authr mentin “digital fatigue” in Paragraph 2?
      A. T criticize the veruse f digital tls in daily life.
      B. T stress peple are less interested in scial media.
      C. T explain why peple desire fcus-requiring activities.
      D. T prve crafts require mre patience than digital activities.
      13. What d examples in Paragraph 3 shw?
      A. Innvatin is mre imprtant than traditin. B. Traditinal crafts can adapt t mdern tastes.
      C. Yung cnsumers prefer ec-friendly prducts. D. Luxury brands depend n traditinal techniques.
      14. Which f the fllwing statement wuld bth critics and supprters mst likely agree n?
      A. Traditinal crafts pssess values that need t be preserved.
      B. Innvatin is in cnflict with maintaining traditinal skills.
      C. Yung cnsumers alne will determine the future f craftsmanship.
      D. Digital expsure unavidably harms the uniqueness f traditinal crafts.
      15. What’s the main idea f the passage?
      A. Yung peple are respnsible fr preserving traditinal skills.
      B. Traditinal crafts are replacing digital prducts in mdern life.
      C. Mdern innvatins are ruining the authenticity f traditinal crafts.
      D. The revival f traditinal crafts reflects a desire fr meaning in a digital wrld.
