A new study led by Dr. Reza Kamilglu, prvides evidence that there are just tw main types f laughter: ne generated when peple find smething funny and ne that can be caused nly thrugh the physical act f tickling (挠痒痒).
Dr Kamilglu instructed assistants t cllect 887 vides that were then classified, ranging frm tickle attacks t laughing fr ther factrs. Abut 70% f these vides were used t train a machine-learning algrithm (算法) t classify laughter by reasns. The algrithm was then asked t classify the remaining 30% and crrectly identified laughter prduced by tickling 62.5% f the time. All ther frms f laughter, whether they came frm viewing stand-up cmedy r practical jkes, were difficult t tell apart. This suggested there was smething unique abut the tickling laughter. When Dr Kamilglu ran the experiment again, asking human bservers t classify the laughter, a similar result shwed: Human bservers crrectly identified tickling laughter 61.2% f the time.
The findings made scientists reflect n the rts f laughter. After all, humans are nt the nly animals that can laugh and tickle. This pints t the fact that laughter frm tickling develped ver 10 millin years ag. This early srt f laughter prbably develped t help primates (灵长目动物) build friendly relatins.
