In 1996, language expert Olthuis had a difficult decisin t make. Shuld she speak t her newbrn daughter in Finnish r Inari Sámi, the endangered language f her native cmmunity?
“I decided that I wuld speak t Sfia, my daughter, in Inari Sdmi,” Olthuis said. “And that’s hw it all started.”
