Imprtantly, half f the participants were tld it was AI-written, while the ther half were made t think it was the wrk f Jasn Brwn.
After reading the first half f the AI-written stry, participants were asked t rate the quality f the wrk alng varius dimensins, such as whether they fund it predictable, emtinally engaging and s n. We als measured participants’ willingness t pay in rder t read t the end f the stry in tw ways: hw much mney and hw much time they’d agree t spend reading sme text we gave them.
S, were there differences between the tw grups? The grup that knew the stry was AI-written judged it mre negatively. Hwever, participants were ready t spend the same amunt f mney and time t finish reading the stry whether r nt it was labeled as AI. Participants als did nt spend less time actually reading the AI-labeled stry. When asked afterward, almst 40% f participants said they wuld have paid less if the same stry was written by AI, highlighting that many are nt aware f the difference between their subjective
