Cnducted in tw duble-blinded, randmized, cntrlled trials, the new study invlved 469 participants living with OSA. They were frm nine different cuntries, including the U.S., Australia and Germany. Participants either used r did nt use cntinuus psitive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, the mst cmmn OSA treatment which uses a machine t maintain an pen airway during sleep, preventing interruptins in breathing. Patients used either 10 r 15 mg f the drug by injectin(注射) r a placeb(安慰剂). The impact f tirzepatide was evaluated ver 52 weeks.
Researchers fund that tirzepatide led t a significant decrease in the number f breathing interruptins during sleep, a key indicatr used t measure the severity f OSA. This imprvement was much greater than what was seen in participants that were given a placeb. Imprtantly, sme participants that tk the drug reached a pint where CPAP therapy might nt be necessary.

Her chrnlgical(按时间计算的) age is 66 but her subjective age is 40. The wman I’ll call Ana did nt becme fully aware f this discnnect until she went fr her Cvid-19 vaccinatin(接种疫苗) a cuple f years ag. As she std in line, surrunded by her cntempraries, she lked arund and thught: Are they really my age? Later, amused and slightly wrried, she discussed it with her friends. Almst all f them said the same thing had happened t them.
Why d sme f us feel that the number f candles n ur birthday cake can’t be right? Psychlgists and scientists have been studying this phenmenn since the 1970s. Sme wnder abut the cultural factrs that push us t lk yunger. A 1989 study by the American Psychlgical Assciatin cncluded that subjective age identities are “a frm f defensive denial by which adults can disassciate themselves frm the stigma attached t grwing ld.”
Belén Alfns agrees. The psychlgist specializing in gender studies desn’t believe a mature persn shuld be blamed fr perceiving themselves, r presenting themselves t thers, as yunger, but she argues that we need t understand the scial cntext that pushes them t d s. “Having a subjective age f 20 when we are 65, fr example, suggests that we see urselves as energetic, strng, attractive. But why can’t we assciate thse qualities with being 65?”
Take Madnna. The singer, wh is 65, has lng been criticized fr hw she presents herself: a wman cnfident in herself. Judging by the cmments n scial media, many peple see this as a big prblem—they believe that a wman in her 60s shuld cver herself up and nt attract attentin. In a statement psted n Instagram earlier this year, the singer respnded t the haters: “I have never aplgized fr any f the creative chices I have made, nr the way that I lk r dress, and I’m nt ging t start.”
At the high-schl reunin, we may feel we are the best-preserved f ur fellw alumni(校友). That’s kay, but it’s nt real. Hwever, seeing yurself as yunger can be gd fr yur physical and mental health. S, frever yung, t the end, like Madnna.
      32. What des the underlined wrd “stigma” in Paragraph 2 mean?
      A. Value.B. Prejudice.C. Disability.D. Incnvenience.
      33. Why is Madnna mentined in Paragraph 4?
      A. T illustrate the influence f scial cntext.
      B. T criticize thse wh dismiss her as inapprpriate.
      C. T intrduce a singer wh has enjyed great ppularity.
      D. T argue fr thse wh present themselves regardless f age.
What is true accrding t the passage?
      A. The perceptin f age is a freshly raised study tpic.
      B. Wmen are mre eager t present themselves than men.
      C. It is rare fr peple t perceive themselves yunger than they are.
      D. Yunger subjective age helps bst mental and physical health.
Which quality is the authr mst likely t value?
      A. Staying yung at heart.B. Being brave in behaviur.
      C. Being hnest abut age.D. Remaining attractive in appearance.
