Whether yu’ll be breaking grund n yur first vegetable garden r yu’re thinking f expanding an existing plt (小块土地), yu have chices t make. The first decisin cncerns just hw yu’ll set up yur garden.
Planting vegetables in an in-grund garden, ften called a rw garden, is a traditinal way. The biggest benefit f this technique is that there is little initial cst. There was the initial investment f materials and time needed t build and fill the beds.
Hugelkultur gardening is a traditinal technique that embraces n-dig methds. This is a great way t grw vegetables as well as fruits like strawberries and blueberries. The bed itself is a pile f rganic materials like branches and leaves and is cvered with sil. It takes years fr the bed t break dwn, and it creates a nutrient-rich envirnment fr plants. Perhaps the easiest way t get started in fd gardening is t use pts, planters, windw bxes and ther types f cntainers. Yu can even upcycle items like buckets. The advantage f cntainer gardening is that it turns any sunny space int a place t grw fd. On the dwnside, there is an initial cst f cntainers. Plus pts dry ut quicker than garden beds in the ht summer sun. Yu’ll need t pay very clse attentin t watering. It’s als imprtant t fertilize (施肥) ptted vegetables regularly.
8. Why des an in-grund garden need regular care?
A. It suffers animal attack easily.B. It has a lng planting seasn.
C. It is high in cst at the beginning.D. It is slw t warm up in winter.
9. What can we learn abut the authr?
A. He spends a lt f mney in gardening.B. He is a green hand in planting.
C He is tired f eating vegetables.D. He has rich gardening experience.
10. What’s the advantage f a hugelkultur garden?
A. High prductin is predictable.B. Plants can grw in a nutritius envirnment.
C. The weed remving can be avided.D. A warm envirnment is created fr plants.
11. What’s imprtant fr a cntainer garden?
A. Using different cntainers.B. Drying the cntainers in time.
