A third study, led by Shuji Ogin in Bstn, adds t the evidence, but turns the sptlight away frm calcium. His team fllwed sme 87,000 wmen fr 40 years and 45,000 men fr 30 years. At least tw servings f plain ygurt a week, which cntained Bifidbacterium bacteria (双歧杆菌), was linked t a 20 per cent lwer rate f clrectal cancer.
When it cmes t calcium pills, a 2018 reprt fr Cancer Research suggests that they decrease the risk f clrectal cancer, but anther study fund that they may increase the risk f diseases that may lead t the cnditin.
