With just 4 miles left, I really wanted t quit. My legs felt like lead, my lung burning with every breath. The
pain was simply unbearable, and I wndered if I had what it tk t inch t the end. But then, the prmise f my
husband and my daughter eched in my mind. I thught abut hw prud they wuld be t see me finish and I
culd even picture the scene f them cheering fr me. With the prmise in my mind, I tk a deep breath, wiped the
sweat, and dragged my legs t keep ging.
Finally, the smiling faces f my family came int my sight. I quickened my pace, ignring the pain that had
burdened me fr the last 21 miles. As I crssed the finish line, my husband and daughter dashed twards me,
wrapping me in a warm embrace. At that mment, my eyes were cluded, my muth wide pening, breathing
heavily. “Mum, yu’re awesme!” shuted my daughter. Seeing the pride n her face, all the pain and suffering
faded away, replaced by pure jy and accmplishment. S, I had cmpleted my very first marathn, and it was an
experience marking a breakthrugh in my life.
