Pdareva, 28, was brn in the hmetwn f Russia’s famus pet Sergei Yesenin. She has lved pems since her childhd. Grwing up, she wrte many pems in bth Russian and English. After she came t China t study Chinese in 2013, the wrld f Chinese pems pened up befre her.
Pdareva has had clrful experiences in China in the past ten years. She has wn prizes in many Chinese pem writing cmpetitins and published her wn Chinese pem cllectins. “Sme peple may praise China in a direct way, but I prefer t express my feelings abut the cuntry and describe the friendship between China and Russia thrugh different styles f pems,” Pdareva says.
Pdareva has always wanted t be a cultural ambassadr (大使) between the tw cuntries. In 2020, she began t make vides and shared them nline. Besides sharing Chinese pems she had written, Pdareva als prduced vides abut cultural differences between China and Russia. Smetimes she made humrus vides t explain the misunderstandings that Chinese peple have tward Russians.
Besides writing pems, Pdareva has als been painting. She desn’t think the tw art frms are different frm each ther. “Wang Wei was a famus Chinese pet, and he was als a painter,” she says. In December 2022, Pdareva held an exhibitin (展览) in Shanghai with 66 f her paintings n shw.
“All art is a way fr the creatrs t express their spirit,” Pdareva says. “I hpe t create a website in Russia and intrduce China—thrugh my pems and paintings—t Russians, s that the friendship between the tw cuntries will be much deeper.”

The Dutch cmpany WeTransfer did a study f 20,000 peple frm 197 cuntries and regins. Mst f these peple wrk in creative jbs, such as writers, musicians and scientists. The results shwed that brainstrming was ften unhelpful fr slving creative challenges.
“It seems that while wrking tgether is imprtant t bring an idea t life, it’s nt very helpful fr shaping ideas in the first place,” said Rb Aldersn, WeTransfer’s editr-in-chief.
If we give peple enugh time and space t think clearly, they can cme up with better ideas, Aldersn aded. Even Alex Osbrn, the father f brainstrming, believed that spending time thinking alne was part f his wn creative prcess.
Hwever, mst cmpanies dn’t give their staff enugh time and chances t prepare and develp their ideas n their wn. Instead, they ften hld t many meetings, which can hurt creativity. Mre than 40 percent f the peple said meetings were harmful t gd thinking.
Spending time alne t think helps yu cme up with yur wn ideas and develp independent thinking. This is especially imprtant when making decisins. Nearly 80 percent f the peple in WeTransfer’s study said they trusted their wn instincts (直觉) and research when deciding whether an idea was gd.

Yu may find this email surprising, but knitting sweaters fr penguins is a real act f kindness. The idea was started by the Penguin Fundatin (基金会) and Phillip Island Nature Parks in Australia.
The prject began due t a serius il spill (泄漏) near Phillip Island in the late 1990s. During that time, the number and health f baby penguins drpped rapidly. When little penguins became cvered in il, they tried t clean themselves with their beaks (喙), but eating the il culd be deadly. The il als made it difficult fr them t swim r hunt fr fd.
T slve this prblem, the fundatin asked knitters wrldwide t make sweaters fr affected (受影响的) penguins. These sweaters culd keep the penguins warm during the cleaning prcess and stp them frm eating the il.
It’s a gd methd t prtect penguins. In 2001, there was anther il spill near Phillip Island. Thanks t the sweaters, 96 percent f the affected penguins were successfully saved.
