    We recruited (招募) a grup f Canadian yuths aged 17-24 years wh were using scial media fr mre than tw hurs per day and als experiencing higher levels f emtinal prblems. We tracked their scial media use fr ne week by having them send daily screenshts (屏幕截图) f their usage. These yuth spent abut tw and a half hurs per day n scial media. During this same perid, we als assessed their bdy image and ther mental health measures.
    Participants were then divided int tw grups. The interventin grup reduced their daily scial media use t ne hur per day. The cntrl grup cntinued t have unlimited use f scial media. After the three-week interventin perid ended, thse wh reduced daily scial media use reprted significantly greater imprvements in appearance satisfactin and weight satisfactin cmpared t thse wh had nt reduced their scial media use.
    The results f this study suggest that reducing scial media use t mre mderate levels – abut ne hur per day-is a gd place t start. Replacing scial media use with mre mental health- imprving activities such as physical activity, time in nature, pursuing hbbies, and spending quality time with friends and family can bring even greater mental benefits.
