The study highlights the ptential degradatin f drinking water and risk t fisheries in the Arctic.
“When mixed with anther river, it can actually make the metals even mre ptent in its impact t aquatic (水生的) health.” Pulin said. The phenmenn was first bserved in 2018, when researchers nticed the milky range appearance f the rivers acrss nrthern Alaska’s Brks Range.

The rusting is a seasnal phenmenn, ccurring in the summer typically during July and August, when the sil is thawed the deepest.
