China has taken a whle new step in its mn explratin. President Xi Jinping n Dec. 17, 2020 cngratulated the cmplete success f the Chang’e-5 missin(任务) that brings back the cuntry’s first samples cllected frm the mn. Fllwing America and Russia, China has becme the third cuntry in the wrld t cllect rcks frm the mn.
Chang’e-5 first tk ff frm the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Hainan n Nvember 24, 2020. It landed n a massive lava plain (熔岩平原) f the mn n December 1, 2020. Then it started t cllect the samples. The samples may help scientists understand mre abut the mn’s rigins. It may help wrk ut hw the mn cmes int being and hw it develps.
