This past summer I went n a jurney t Canada's Arctic with Students n Ice. When I left Calgary I wndered what I wuld find, what I wuld learn and wh I wuld meet. On the trip t Ottawa I was wrapped in a blanket f uncertainty and excitement. But when I first met the grup, I knew I didn't have anything t wrry abut. I was sn part f a big family setting ut n an amazing adventure—an adventure f a lifetime!
When we reached the Arctic I saw a vast land that appeared untuched and riginal. I was surprised by its great size and beauty. I std n the Kapitan Khlebnikv and saw twelve plar bears. They walked in search f seal hles, and patiently waited fr a meal. I learned that plar bears are successful nly ne ut f every twenty hunting attempts.
Hwever, I learned that the Arctic and its peple are being threatened by pllutin and glbal warming. I learned that pllutants are carried by the cean and air and have a bad effect n all Arctic peple. I learned that glbal warming has put plar bears at risk because a warmer climate means that they have a shrter time t hunt seals n the ice.
