ther, thers, the ther, the thers, anther
不明确指代某个人、某个事物、某些人、某些事物的代词叫不定代词。
① ther  thers ther:“另一个”,表示泛指。 thers 是 ther 的复数形式，泛指“剩余的 其他人/物”

ne… the ther…: 表示两个人/物中“一个…,另一个…”。ne… the thers…: 强调确定数目中的“一个”与“其余的”。sme…thers…: 表示许多人或物中的“一部分”和“另一部分”(并非 全部,可能还有剩余的)，常译为“一些…另一些…”。sme…the thers…：表示许多人或物中的“一部分”和“其余的 全部”,常译为“一些…其余的…”。

ther 还可做 形容词 修饰名词 意为“其他的,另外的,别的 ”，作定语用，后需加复数名词。
 She always helps ther peple. (作定语修饰复数名词) 她总是帮助别人。 D yu have any ther suggestins? (作定语修饰复数名词) 你还有其它的建议吗？ They practiced pian, guitar, vilin and ther instruments. 他们练习钢琴、吉他、小提琴和其他乐器。
当ther (其他的,另外的,别的) 是形容词作定语用来修饰名词时，其后需加复数名词，构成 ther + 可数名词复数。但是如果在 ther 的前面加上定冠词 the,其后就可以跟单、复数名词 the ther + 单数名词 / 复数名词
 Put it in the ther hand. (作定语修饰单数名词) 把它放在你的另一只手里。 There is an ld church n the ther side f the street. (跟单数名词) 街的另一边有一座古老的教堂。 Let the ther kids ut first. (跟复数名词) 让其他小朋友先出去吧。 May I see the ther rms? (跟复数名词) 我可以看看其它房间吗？
③ anther 1.prn.: 单独使用时泛指三者或三者以上中的“另一个”, 只能代替单数可数名词。2.adj.: 意为“另外的,再一,又一”。 A) anther + 单数可数名词:“另一个”,表示在原来基础上 增加一个。 B)anther + tw / five / few…+ 复数可数名词: 另外两个/五个/几个…

anther：特别提醒 ②

 Buses passed by ne after anther n the busy street. 在繁忙的街道上，公交车一辆接一辆地驶过。
这两者都可以表示“另外一个”。其区别是：the ther 只用于明确数量为两个人或物中的 “另一个” 。anther 用于三者或三者以上不确定数量中的“另一个” 。
anther 与 the ther 词义辨析
