Suffering side effects frm my treatments, my wrld became quite small. With my limited energy, I read ne bk after anther, repeating Inspectr Gamache's wrds, "All will be well." I whispered these wrds t myself befre every medical treatment.
On ne especially uncmfrtable night, lying n the bed with my bk, I was suddenly transprted nt t Inspectr Gamache's wrld, but t the bedrm f my childhd with a different bk in hand, The Hidden Staircase, a Nancy Drew mystery. When my parents' marriage was falling apart at that time, I always sught cmfrt frm Nancy.
