In 1835, William Talbt finally succeeded in prducing a phtgraph f his cuntry huse. He declared that his was the first huse ever knwn t have drawn its wn picture. The drawing was frmed “by the actin f light upn sensitive paper.” Phtgraphy ffered nature a “pencil” t paint herself thrugh ptical (光学的) and chemical means alne.
By the mid-nineteenth century, peple n lnger needed t hire a draftsman t draw detailed images because the prcess culd be cmpleted instantly with a camera. Advcates fr the technlgy stated that nt nly was it mre precise than the human hand-it was faster and cheaper.
The remval f human fallibility in the creating prcess was ne f phtgraphy’s biggest selling pints, but this als started debates abut the new medium’s implicatins fr visual culture. Culd images made largely by a machine be cnsidered art? If s, where did human creativity, fit in this prcess?
As the twenty-first century becmes increasingly autmated (自动化的), mre and mre peple attempt t identify where human agency exists in the technlgically driven wrld. Images generated with artificial intelligence by cmpanies like OpenAI are stimulating questins like thse that emerged with the cming f the phtgraph. By typing a sentence, users can generate “new” images cmpsed frm images cllected acrss the internet. The result has been a fld f Al-generated images in places that are previusly unique t human authrs. Painting cmpetitins, cmmercial graphic design and the fashin f prtraiture(肖像) have all since cllided with the technlgy in trubling ways.
The fine arts were thught t be a final hld-ut f human creativity, but the surprisingly high quality f Al-generated images is prducing deeper questins abut the nature f riginality. If the histry f phtgraphy tells us anything, it’s that the debate wn’t be settled quickly; straightfrwardly r by the institutins we typically assciate with cultural gate-keeping.
24.Why did Talbt declare that his huse had drawn its wn picture?
A.T minimize human factrs in the creatin.
    B.T investigate a supernatural phenmenn.
C.T shw his advanced knwledge in science.
D.T demnstrate the beauty f his cuntry huse.

    C.The technlgy f a camera.D.The paper sensitive t light.
26.What d OpenAI and cameras have in cmmn?
A.They imprve the taste f beauty.B.They advcate fashin designs.
C.They challenge human agency.D.They prduce riginal images.
27.What did the authr indicate by referring t the histry f phtgraphy?
A.Cultural gatekeepers will slve the issue as they did.
B.Al-generated images will g thrugh a similar debate.
C.The nature f riginality will be held in human hands.
D.The fine arts will include phtgraphy and AI images.

There’s a useful cncept frm psychlgy that helps explain why gd peple d things that harm the envirnment: the false cnsensus effect. That’s where we vervalue hw acceptable and prevalent(普遍的) ur wn behavir is in sciety. Put simply, if yu’re ding smething (even if yu secretly knw yu prbably shuldn’t), yu’re mre likely t think plenty f ther peple d it t. What’s mre, yu likely verestimate hw much ther peple think that behavir is bradly OK.
This bias(偏见) allws peple t justify scially unacceptable r illegal behavirs. Researchers have bserved the false cnsensus effect in drug use and illegal hunting. Mre recently, cnservatinists are beginning t reveal hw this effect cntributes t envirnmental damage.
In Australia, peple wh admitted t paching(偷猎) thught it was much mre prevalent in sciety than it really was, and had higher estimates than fishers wh beyed the law. They als believed thers viewed paching as scially acceptable; hwever, in reality, mre than 90% f fishers held the ppsite view. The false cnsensus effect has als shwn up in studies examining supprt fr nuclear energy and ffshre wind farms.
Just as cncepts frm psychlgy can help explain sme frms f envirnmental damage, s t can they help address it. Fr example, research shws peple are mre likely t litter in areas where there’s already a-lt f trash scattered arund; s making sure the grund arund a bin is nt cvered in rubbish may help.
Factual infrmatin n hw ther peple think and behave can be very pwerful. Energy cmpanies have substantially reduced energy cnsumptin simply by shwing peple hw their electricity use cmpares t their neighbrs. Encuragingly, stimulating peple’s natural desire fr status has als been successful in getting peple t “g green t be seen”, r t publicly buy ec-friendly prducts.
As the research evidence shws, scial nrms can be a pwerful frce in encuraging and ppularizing envirnmentally friendly behavirs. Perhaps yu can d yur bit by sharing this article!
28.Which example best illustrates the false cnsensus effect?
A.A student spends lng hurs surfing the internet.
B.A blgger assumes many peple dislike his psts.
C.A driver frequently parks illegally in public places.
D.A smker believes peple generally apprve f smking.

    D
The message is drummed int us frm childhd: frgive peple wh’ve wrnged yu, because it’s the right thing t d. Frgiveness is a virtue, we’re tld—the nly way fr us t truly mve n and heal, freed frm the baggage f bearing ill will.
Hwever, I’m nt buying it. Frgiving smene can indeed be a beautiful thing, but it’s nt always what’s best fr us. In fact, if smene has hurt yu deeply and the relatinship isn’t healthy, trying t “fix” things can d mre harm than gd.
Mst f us wuld prbably agree that frgiving a wrngder means letting g f negative feelings—like anger and resentment—twards them, as if nthing happened. Actually this isn’t helpful. It pressures us t minimize ur feelings—t say “it’s OK” when fr us, it isn’t. While it’s nt a gd idea t fcus n negative thughts, recgnizing and prcessing all f that pain is an imprtant part f the healing jurney.
A 2010 research paper published in the Jurnal f Persnality and Scial Psychlgy fund that flks wh frgave partners that didn’t make them feel valued had less respect fr themselves. Letting minr ffences(冒犯) that happen nw and again slide can be great fr any relatinship, but repeatedly frgiving bad behavir can encurage that persn t keep hurting yu.
At least, that’s what 2011 research by psychlgy prfessr James McNulty argues. He fund that when a partner was mre likely t frgive thse acts, the aggressr was mre likely t keep cmmitting them. McNulty suggests that this is because facing the cnsequences f their actins is what mtivates peple t change their ways, and being ffered a clean slate can be a kind f pass t avid making changes. S frgiving frequent and majr ffences, like verbal r physical abuse, can d mre harm than gd.
Fr me, this speaks t the cre tensin in the idea. Instead f lking t frgiveness like a magic medicine, we can fcus n recgnizing what happened and cming t terms with it, hwever that lks fr us and withut any sense f bligatin twards ur ffender.
32.What des the authr think abut the message in paragraph 1?
    A.It’s reasnable.B.It’s debatable.
    C.It’s cnvincing.D.It’s unquestinable.
33.Hw des the authr develp the text?
    A.By making cmparisns.B.By giving statistics.
C.By quting researchers’ views.D.By sharing his wn experiences.
34.What des the underlined wrds “a clean slate” in paragraph 5 prbably mean?
    A.A repeated ffence.B.A magic medicine.
    C.A terrible cnsequence.D.A cmplete frgiveness.
35.Which can be the best title f the text?
A.Frgiving is always a virtue.B.Frgiving can change everything.
C.Frgiving thers smetimes depends.D.Frgiving thers always seems impssible.

The jy f reading this bigraphy is a prfund experience that transcends the written wrd, ffering me a deep dive int the life and achievements f a remarkable individual wh played a pivtal rle in shaping China’s aerspace industry. His decisin t return t China despite persnal risks has greatly resnated with me, instilling a sense f wnder and inspiratin.
    Versin1
Knwing what I had t say, I calmed myself dwn and walked t the platfrm. I tk a deep breath and began. With my vice shaking, I spke f my incnsiderate behaviur, deep regret and the upsetting result withut expsing Judy’s name. After finishing my heartfelt speech, with sweat flwing dwn my face, I didn’t dare t expect my classmates’ respnse. T my surprise, they applauded fr my sincerity. Even Mr. Thmas praised my curage t admit my fault and aplgize publicly. Back t my seat, I stle a lk at Judy and amazingly fund she was als lking at me with tears.
That day marked a turning pint. Althugh Judy and I never directly talked abut that unpleasant events, ur interactins slwly returned t nrmal. We laughed and chatted again, as if a silent frgiveness had been granted. I was never prud f my bravery in that speech class. Instead, I knew fr sure it was an experience t be mdestly thankful fr. Here are the lessns I have carried clse t my heart ever since: Speaking ill f thers plant seeds f regret and true friendships deserve the respect f hnest wrds and pen hearts.
    Versin 2
Knwing what I had t say, I calmed myself dwn and walked t the platfrm. My hands were trembling slightly but my reslve was firm. “My mst embarrassing mment,” I started, “was abut the pain I caused t smene else.” As I spke, I culd see Judy in the audience, her eyes glistening with tears. “I hurt my friend deeply, nt ut f ill will, but ut f thughtlessness,” I admitted, my vice thick with remrse. “I want t make things right.” I lked directly at Judy, ur eyes meeting acrss the rm. There was silence, then applause began t build, a wave f supprt filling the air, in which Judy smiled with a nd f acknwledgment.
That day marked a turning pint. Nt nly did I make amends with Judy, but I als learned t be mre mindful f my wrds and actins. I came t realize that wrds have pwer t hurt r heal, and it’s never t late t make things right. Mre imprtantly, it became a catalyst fr persnal grwth, and ur friendship, nce shaken, was nw strnger than ever. Judy and I started talking again, and with each cnversatin, ur bnd deepened. The incident, which had nce seemed like a dark clud, became a silver lining, teaching us bth the imprtance f frgiveness and the strength that cmes frm facing ur mistakes head-n.
