He was a great American wh lived between 1737 and 1809. He spent his life speaking and writing abut the imprtance f freedm f thught.     In the 1990s, the Thmas Paine Fundatin began celebrating Thmas Paine ‘s birthday. At the same time, the ‘Truthseeker’ magazine began celebrating Freethinkers Day n the same day. The magazine’s ai m was t infrm Americans f the imprtance f Thmas Paine in the histry f their freedm and liberty. The great inventr Thmas Edisn said: "I have always regarded Paine as ne f the greatest f all Americans. It was my gd frtune t encunter Thmas Paine’s wrks in my byhd... Paine educated me, then, abut many matters f which I had never befre thught... What a pity these wrks are nt the schlbks fr all children tday!”
