    阅读理解之应用文包含广告、招聘、咨询和建议、通知等类型的文章。纵观历年各省市的中考题可以看出广告图表类的文章在阅读理解中占有相当大的比重,一般四篇阅读理解中至少有一篇是广告图表类。广告图表类的文章属于应用文的行列。考生在阅读这类材料时,主要从两方面入手:一是了解图表的主题,确定图表的主要内容,二是推敲图画上的文字或数字,找出它们之间的关联或试图表达的含义。
    人物故事类的阅读理解是中考英语的常考材料之一。这类文章一般可分为人物传记和短篇故事两类。
    1、人物传记主要涉及某人的生平事迹、趣闻轶事、生活背景、个性特征、成长和奋斗历程等,其特点是以时间的先后或事件的发展为主线,脉络清楚,可读性较强。
    2、短篇故事与人物传记不同的是,这类文章一般描述的是某一件具体事情的发生发展或结局,有人物、时间、地点和事件。命题往往从故事的情节、人物或事件之间的关系、作者的态度及意图、故事前因和后果的推测等方面着手,考查考生对细节的辨认能力以及推理判断能力。
    说明文是以说明为主要表达方式用来说明事物,阐明事理的一种文体。它通过揭示概念来说明事物的特征、本质及其规律性,给人准确的科学知识或正确思想。一般可分为实体事物说明和抽象事物说明两大类,词典、教材、论文、实验报告、产品说明书、广告、解说词及科学小品等都属于说明文。阅读说明文体裁的文章时应首先抓住下面的重要信息:A. 说明的对象B. 说明对象的特征C. 说明的方法(例证法;定义法;分类法;因果关系法;比较对照法;过程分析法)
    议论文往往有观点,有事实,逻辑性强,命题往往从事实的有关细节及文章的主旨或作者的表达意图等方面着手,考查我们的思维能力和判断能力。所以考生要培养根据上下文猜词的能力,或者说根据情境能揣测作者的意图。议论文的阅读同其他体裁文章的阅读理解一样,可以有主旨大意、细节理解、推理判断、词义猜测等几种出题方式。
    解题技巧
    题型分析
    从近几年初中升学考试试卷来看,阅读理解考题的类型就是单选题四选一。这类题型的选项应在理解短文的基础上做出判断,坚持短文内容与考项对比的方法,把一些与短文内容明显相符或不相符的答案选出来。主要有四个考点:具体细节,主旨大意,判断推理,词义猜测。
    主旨大意型
    考查学生对文章主题或中心思想的领会和理解能力。此类考查主旨和大意的题大多数针对段落(或短文)的主题,主题思想,标题或目的,其主要提问方式是:
    1) Which is the best title f the passage?
    2) Which f the fllwing is this passage abut?
    3) In this passage the writer tries t tell us that______.
    4) The passage tells us that______.
    5) This passage mainly talks abut_______.
    6). What is the main idea f this passage?
    7). What is the authr’s main pint?
    8). The main purpse f the passage?
    9). The title f this passage wuld be ____.
    做这类题,要找准主题句。每段的主题句(常在首句、尾句、首尾句、段落中和归纳分析)一般都用来表示一个段落的主旨大意。然后根据文章意思全面理解而归纳概括出来的;但不能太笼统、言过其实或以偏概全。小心“首段陷阱”,不要一看开头就选择答案。
    1)干扰项可能属文中某个具体事实或细节。
    2)干扰项可能属从文中某些(不完全的)事实或细节片面推出的错误结论。
    3)干扰项可能属非文章事实的主观臆断。
    2. 具体细节型
    解题原则:忠于原文,联系上下文,理清全篇的逻辑关系,决不能主观臆断。有关细节的问题常对文中某个词语、某句子、某段落等细节及事实进行提问,所提问题一般可直接或间接在文章中找到答案。所以一定要将题干所涉及信息在原文中找到,找出最贴近原话的选项。
    此类考查事实和细节的题目大多数是针对文章的细节设计的,其主要提问方式是:

    2) Which f the fllwing is nt mentined?
    3) Which f the fllwing is Nt True in the passage?
    4) Chse the right rder f this passage.
    5) Frm this passage we knw ________.
    3. 词义猜测型
    同义法常在词或短语之间有并列连词 and 或 r,它们连接的两项内容在含义上是接近的或递进的,由此可以推测。
    反义法如 ht and cld,give and receive 等,或前句为肯定,后句为否定。总之,词与词间都起着互为线索的作用。
    释义法对文章中的生词用定语(从句)、表语甚至用逗号、破折号等标点符号引出并加以解释说明。
    情景推断法、代词替代法等
    推理判断型
    透过现象看本质,领悟作者思想倾向、观点、立场、语气及态度等。以原文内容为前提,据作者的观点理论(非考生观点),客观地对文中未明显说明的现象或事例给予合理的逻辑推断,做出一定解释。
    做题要领:既要求学生透过文章表面文字信息推测文章隐含意思,又要求学生对作者的态度、意图及文章细节的发展作正确的推理判断,力求从作者的角度去考虑,不要固守自己的看法或观点。
    此类题目文章中没有明确的答案,需要考生再理解全文的基础上进行推理和判断。其主要提问方式是:
