Peple living in the 10 mst ppulus metrplitan areas, which include cities like New Yrk City, Ls Angeles, and Chicag, alng with their surrunding areas, were significantly less likely t interact with peple f different sciecnmic ranks than peple in metrplitan areas with fewer than 100,000 residents.
The gd news is that there are ways t build cities t prmte mre sciecnmic mixing. Lking at large cities, the researchers fund that thse that placed frequently-visited hubs（中心）in between different neighbrhds—instead f in the center f each neighbrhd—were less separated.
"These big cities have managed t develp diverse interactins because the hubs that peple visit the mst-which turn ut t be shpping centers, squares, and similar places-are between rich and pr neighbrhds," said Hamed Nilfrshan, a dctral researcher at Stanfrd University.
