Mst viruses can be fund and killed by ur immune system as sn as they enter ur bdies. Hwever, sme viruses, fr example, the crnavirus, are sneaky. They are difficult t recgnize and find. These viruses can cause deadly diseases, like COVID-19. Human-t-human transmissin can easily ccur, and pandemic will therefre break ut. Vaccinatin is by nw a simple, safe and effective way t prtect us frm the diseases.
▲ Vaccines are smething that “lks” exactly the same as the viruses, mainly made frm the viruses that are weakened r killed. They will nt make us really ill. They nly stimulate and activate ur immune system t wrk, telling it smething harmful is cming in. The immune system will knw what the “viruses” lk like, and send B cells (lymphcytes) r antibdies t find and kill them. Meanwhile B cells will remember them fr the next kill. A vaccine may als give us passive immunity by prviding B cells taken frm an animal r a human t play the same rle.
Scientists have develped mre than 180 vaccines t fight against COVID-19. The technical appraches f these vaccines can be a little different, but their aims are the same.
Take the inactivated vaccine as an example. In an inactivated vaccine, the crnaviruses are already killed r made int the nes unable t prduce mre new viruses. When the immune system “sees” them, it will try t kill them. The questin is: withut enugh these viruses hw can B cells remember them? That’s why we need t take the vaccine mre than ne time. Thugh this vaccine is safe, it might nt be as effective as it is expected t be.
The live-attenuated vaccine is different. In this vaccine, the viruses are weakened, but they are alive. They can prduce enugh new viruses t train the immune system t kill and remember them, s peple nly need t take the vaccine nce. The live-attenuated vaccine is cnsidered the mst effective, but there is a wrry: what might happen nce these viruses wake up?
Therefre, althugh vaccinatin is by nw ne f the best ways t prtect us frm COVID-19, it can be better.

Music has a rhythm, has ups and dwns. Design is respnsible fr this experience. Flipping thrugh pages was reader’s experience» and I was respnsible fr this experience.
The frnt page became my persnal channel t talk t the readers. My apprach was simple and direct. I wanted t shw my understanding f art, and f reality. I wanted t make psters, nt newspapers. Nt even magazines: psters.
We had determinatin, and we kept n trying. We experimented with type, with illustratin and with phts. We kept asking: Why d we d it? What’s ur gal?
Design was nt nly abut the frnt page. It was a part f the prcess. T be gd was nt enugh. The prcess we made was abut imprving the prduct cmpletely.
We adjusted the cntent accrdingly. We imprved everything t what ur readers thught it shuld be and hw they liked reading it. We kept imprving and we had fun.
Sn in Pland, ur pages were named “Cvers f the Year” three times in a rw. One year later9 this newspaper, in the same cuntry, they named it the “Wrld’s Best-Designed Newspaper”.
