His painting equipment was cmprehensive—an easel (画架), quality paints, brushes, palette, canvases, charcal pencils, etc. Gerge hused many f these items in a red metal tl bx with the riginal shp sticker with the price. Nt fancy, but shiny and very red.
Fr abut six years Gerge and I studied tgether until the cmpletin f the curse drew us apart. We kept in tuch as we lived within a cuple f kilmetres f each ther. I'd smetimes see him n his daily walk r at the lcal shps and ccasinally we'd chat ver an afternn tea.
Last year Gerge was abut 80 years ld. He rang ne day and asked me t cme t his huse. While his wife Drthy served tea and cake, Gerge explained that he was giving up painting and giving away all his “stuff”.
