    Santini was the first direct registratin patient fr this prgram, meaning he never presented t the hspital initially. It was n surprise that there was a celebratin fr this milestne.
    “I was ready t head ut t the emergency department,” said Santini, wh even had a list f things t take when he gt a call frm Stephanie Paran, R. N. , a nurse at U-M Briarwd Family Medicine. “Hearing Paran’s wrds, I sprang t my feet and didn’t hesitate t accept the advice.”
    Althugh he initially didn’t knw what t expect, he later said what the care team did was far beynd his expectatins, especially the caregivers. The staff gave him infusins three times a day fr six days. They tk his regular medicatins away, just like hw they wuld in a hspital. They checked the infectin, drew bld and even brught in an ultrasund machine. “I didn’t knw that was pssible,” Santini said. After discharge, a Michigan Visiting Nurse visited nce a week until he cmpletely recvered.

    In the researchers’ user study, their system was able t predict the actins that humans will take with arund 82% accuracy. “We hpe that ur research can make it easier fr peple t shw rbts what they prefer,” said Nemlekar. “By helping each persn in their preferred way, rbts can reduce their wrk, save time and even build trust with them.”This technlgy culd als be useful in industrial settings where wrkers are tasked with assembling prducts in large numbers, saving time and reducing the risk f injury r accidents.
