Nw, Nzambi Matee, a 29-year-ld wman frm Nairbi, Kenya, is dealing with this glbal crisis by recycling bags, cntainers, and ther waste prducts int bricks used fr cnstructin prjects. Befre launching her cmpany, Gjenge Makers, Matee wrked as an il-industry engineer. After encuntering plastic waste alng Nairbi's streets, she decided t quit her jb and created a small lab, testing sand and plastic cmbinatins. Matee eventually received a schlarship t study in the materials lab at the University f Clrad Bulder, where she ultimately develped a prttype (原型) fr the machine that nw prduces the new bricks.
Made frm a cmbinatin f plastic and sand, the bricks have a melting pint higher than 350°C and are mre durable than cncrete bricks. Overall, it was a valuable and enriching experience.
