    As Trevr Muir wrte in an article n this tpic, “When kids learn hw t create and use paper maps, they are ding mre than just learning hw t get arund. They are actually develping a fundamental skill that they will use fr the rest f their lives. Map skills still belng in tday's classrm.”
    As a child, I had Natinal Gegraphic Maps taped t my bedrm walls. This arused my curisity and imaginatin abut thse places and thus made me eager t remember my gegraphy and histry lessns because they were tied t places I'd “seen”. Even nw as a mther f fur, I've als spared time t travel t many f the cuntries whse maps I studied as a child.
    Additinally, in this fast­changing wrld, unexpected events can rapidly influence ne's usual way f life. When GPS satellites r Internet cnnectins are affected, this ld­fashined skill can get yu ut f a mess withut requiring a smartphne. Last but nt least, paper maps aruse big picture thinking, shwing kids that there's a much bigger wrld ut there and helping t direct them within it.
