     Wang Dakang was born in 1935 in the

 town of Mouzi, Leshan City in Sichuan

Province. He is famous for his

encour-aging life story in his hometown.

 He is a model of lifelong learning now.

    In the 1980s, Wang became the first person in China to finish a round trip of the country using only a bicycle. He cycled most of China between 1981 and 1984. During the 1,278 days, he traveled more than 60,000 kilometers and later wrote his experiences into a book. However, his manuscript(手稿) was not good enough to be published at first.

    In order to better write his book for publication, Wang, who was a middle school graduate, decided to continue his studies. At the age of 61, he went to Sichuan Normal College to learn journalism(新闻学) in 1996.

    His path for knowledge did not stop there. In 2000, Wang began his graduate studies in the same college and studied travel literature. In 2008, he went to Leshan Normal University to learn music and graduated in 2012.

     And his 560,000-word book on his trip in the 1980s was finally published in 2016.

     At present, Wang lives in his home in a village in Leshan, where he spends his days following carefully planned routines. Wang gets up at 4:30 a.m. to exercise for half an hour every morning. His study starts at 6 a.m.

    He reads and takes notes from People’s Daily, a leading newspaper in China.Other daily activities include practicing calligraphy(书法), learning English, riding his bicycle and playing musical instruments.

    “Right now I just feel there’s not enough time every day as there is so much to learn,” Wang said. “I want to continue learning as I grow older and I will study until the very end,” he added.

    When the people around us feel down, we usually say jiayou. When we watch the dragon boat races, we can also hear jiayou. We usually say it when we 26.　　_______   　　 someone.
