If you're living in or visiting New York, take a few hours to visit one of these places to ice skate during your time in New York City.
Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park
The free rink (溜冰馆) in Manhattan's Bryant Park first opened in 2005. At 17,000 square feet, it is about half the size of the Wollman Rink in Central Park and twice as big as the rink at Rockefeller Center. As Manhattan's only free skating rink, and centrally located at that, it tends to be mobbed (围聚) with waits up to 2 hours on weekend days.
    Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers

Prices for skating admission is $11 and skate rental $6.
Riverbank Stile Park Ice Skating Rink
This sizeable outdoor rink is open to the public Friday through Sunday, and has a roof to prevent December snows and April rain. And since Riverbank Stale Park overlooks the Hudson, you'll have nice views of the river and the George Washington Bridge as a backdrop.
Admission is $5 for adults, children $3. Skate rental is $6.
The Ice Rink at Rockefeller Center
Ice skating at Rockefeller Center is a truly unique New York holiday staple It is the most sumptuous (豪华的) setting for skating. Since opening on Christmas Day back in 1936, this skating rink has been an institution at the Rockefeller.
Admission is $25-$32 for adults, children up to 12 years $15, skate rental $12.

When Sally Millsopp, 53, with her 17-year-old daughter, Eleanor, participated in Race for Life in 2019. She had no idea if she would get to see her mother Jennifer Earnshaw again, who was desperately ill with a form of lung cancer, but she encouraged the pair to take part in the event as she knew the fundraising would help others.
They managed to make it back to her bedside just in time to show her the photographs. Jennifer, who was a former head teacher, passed away the following day, aged 76.
Ms Millsopp and her daughter are once again participating in the Race for Life on May 13 this year to the memory of Jennifer, and will be speaking on stage to inspire others.
“Mum was a selfless person. I knew she really wanted us to do Race for Life but it was hard not knowing if I would be there with her at the end. When we reached the finish line, Eleanor and I both felt elated that we’d done something so positive at such a sad time. We had a big hug and knew it was something Mum would be proud of,” said Ms Millsopp.

Money raised through Race for Life is helping beat over 200 different types of cancer—that’s why every step, every person and every penny raised counts.

Our house was across the street from a hospital. We rented the upstairs rooms to outpatients at the clinic. One summer evening as I was preparing supper, there was a knock at the door. I opened it to see a truly awful looking man hardly taller than my eight-year-old daughter.
But the frightening thing was his swollen face. He told me that he’d been hunting for a room since noon but no one seemed to have a room. For a moment I hesitated, but his next words convinced me: “I could sleep on the porch (门廊). My bus leaves early in the morning.”
I went inside and finished getting supper. When we were ready, I asked him to join us. “No, thank you. I have plenty.” And he held up a brown paper bag. When I had finished the dishes, I went out to talk with him for a few minutes.
He told me he fished for a living to support his daughter, who was hopelessly disabled, and her five children. He didn’t tell it by way of complaint; in fact, he was grateful that no pain accompanied his disease. He thanked life for giving him the strength to keep going.
At bedtime, we put a small camp bed in the children’s room for him. When I got up in the morning, the bed linens were neatly folded and the little man was out on the porch. He refused breakfast, but just before he left, he smiled, “Your children made me feel at home. Grownups are bothered by my face, but children don’t seem to mind.” I told him he was welcome to come again.
In the years he came to stay overnight with us there was never a time that he did not bring us fish or vegetables. Other times we received packages. Knowing that he must walk three miles to mail these, and knowing how little money he had made the gifts more precious. I know our family always will be grateful to have known him; from him we learned what it was to accept the bad without complaint and the good with gratitude.

My family and I go to the Big Island of Hawaii in the United States every year. Each year, we do the same things-spend time at the beaches, surfing and fishing. On this trip, however, my family got tired of this holiday style and wanted to do something different. We learned from a local that there was a hot spring on the island called the Boiling Pots. Without doing any research, we decided to set off on an adventure to that spot.
We drove to the destination, but were surprised to find that the area was closed off by a fence (栅栏). Reading the sign placed in front of the gate, we found out it was, in fact, a forbidden area that lay at the bottom of the mountain. And we were on the mountaintop. Seemingly out of nowhere, a strange man came up to us. He told us he would go to the Boiling Pots and that he would show us the way down there if we would just jump over the fence and follow him. After some discussion, my family, 8 members, followed the man past the fence.
The ''path'' was a slope (斜坡) covered in mud and high grass. Several times, our members fell but nobody gave up and turned back because it seemed an amazing adventure.
After about one hour's walk, we arrived at the bottom finally, but a large river stopped us. The strange man went to borrow a boat from his friend living nearby. We stood on the bank, waiting for him and joking that we could swim across the river.
Just then, I heard the voice of my father screaming at us to move. I looked up to the sky and saw a large tree falling towards us. I ran forward, pushing the people in front of me. I fell to the ground, hearing a loud sound of the tree hitting the ground, along with pieces of branches surrounding us.

根据第二段“Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park中的The free rink (溜冰馆) in Manhattan's Bryant Park first opened in 2005. At 17,000 square feet, it is about half the size of the Wollman Rink in Central Park and twice as big as the rink at Rockefeller Center. 它的面积为1.7万平方英尺,大约是the Wollman Rink in Central Park的一半,是the rink at Rockefeller Center的两倍)”可知,在A.B.C.三个选项中的溜冰场是B项the Wollman Rink in Central Park最大,D项没提到具体面积。

根据第一段“She had no idea if she would get to see her mother Jennifer Earnshaw again, who was desperately ill with a form of lung cancer, but she encouraged the pair to take part in the event as she knew the fundraising would help others.”(她不知道自己是否能再次见到她的母亲Jennifer Earnshaw,Jennifer Earnshaw病得很严重,得了肺癌,但是当她知道这个筹款能帮助他人的时候,她鼓励她们去参加这个活动。)
根据第四段划线词所在句子“When we reached the finish line, Eleanor and I both felt elated that we’d done something so positive at such a sad time.”(当我们到达终点的时候,埃莉诺和我都感到elated,在如此悲伤的时候,我们做了一些十分积极的事情。)

根据第一段“I opened it to see a truly awful looking man hardly taller than my eight-year-old daughter.”(我打开门,看到一个长相非常可怕的男人,几乎没有我八岁的女儿高。)以及第二段“But the frightening thing was his swollen face. He told me that he’d been hunting for a room since noon but no one seemed to have a room. 故选A项。
根据最后一段“In the years he came to stay overnight with us there was never a time that he did not bring us fish or vegetables. Other times we received packages. Knowing that he must walk three miles to mail these, and knowing how little money he had made the gifts more precious.”(在他来和我们一起过夜的那些年里,他从来没有一次不给我们带鱼或蔬菜。
根据最后一段“In the years he came to stay overnight with us there was never a time that he did not bring us fish or vegetables. Other times we received packages. Knowing that he must walk three miles to mail these, and knowing how little money he had made the gifts more precious. I know our family always will be grateful to have known him; from him we learned what it was to accept the bad without complaint and the good with gratitude.”(这些年来,他来我们家过夜,每次都给我们带来鱼和蔬菜。 故选A项。

Here are some tips on how to protect wildlife through small actions.
根据文中的第一段的Wildlife faces threats (威胁) from habitat destruction, pollution, and other human actions. 故选A。

I sincerely hope you can accept my apology and appreciate your allowing me to make another date to show you around Chengdu. Once again, I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused.
                                                                    All the best

    第二步:根据关键要点,确定关键词,如:feel sorry for it(抱歉),pick him up(接某人),accept my apology(接受道歉),make another date(另约时间)等。
非限制性定语从句的使用 which I have promised和Just now, my cousin, Li Qing, who left home to Australia for his further study last year, informed me that he would return this Saturday morning and asked me to pick him up at the airport with his family.
I sincerely hope you can accept my apology and appreciate your allowing me to make another date to show you around Chengdu.
    52.Paragraph 1:
In a second all went quiet. I slowly got up, looking around to see if anyone was hurt. However, one person did it faster than me. It was my father. He rushed to us, asking us, ''Is everyone OK?'' His voice was full of anxiety and love. Luckily, all were safe, except my little sister who had injured her left knee. We all surrounded her to check whether she could walk normally. She tried to stand up but failed because of the ache.
    Paragraph 2:
When we had no idea what to do, the strange man came back. He said that the moment he heard the loud sound, he returned immediately. Seeing what we had experienced, he said sorry to us again and again, and told us the dangerous situation could be the reason why the area was a forbidden one. We had to give up our plan to the hot spring. With the strange man's help, we made a little ''bed'' with the branches, and carried my little sister back finally. What an adventure!
We all surrounded her to check whether she could walk normally. Seeing what we had experienced, he said sorry to us again and again, and told us the dangerous situation could be the reason why the area was a forbidden one.
