Generally speaking, a schl has far mre ccupants per square meter than an ffice building. The fact is that with increasing urbanizatin, the student ppulatin in many schls is still grwing. Therefre, an awareness f pssible indr air quality prblems is imprtant fr teachers and students alike.    Mst indr air pllutin in schls cmes frm surces inside the schl building. Fr example, phtcpiers, manufactured wd prducts like desks and chairs, and carpeting cleaning prducts and pesticides may all send ut harmful elements int the air. Other pllutants may als accumulate in specific areas such as labratries and tilets. Meanwhile, utdr air that enters a schl building thrugh windws and ther penings can als bring vehicle exhausts int the classrms. Outdated ventilatin systems in sme lder schls increase the risks f indr air quality prblems. Pr indr air quality can cause serius respiratry prblems. Yunger students in particular are affected. Children’s respiratry systems are still develping. They are mre sensitive t the air pllutants. Children als have higher respiratry rates than adults.  As a result, they are likely t breathe in mre f the pllutants than adults d.There is a lt that we can d and shuld d. Fr instance, increasing ventilatin rates, banning smking, string paints and pesticides in clsed cntainers, and using thse pllutant surces in perids f lw r n ccupancy are all easy and effective means t prevent the prblems. Of curse, f all the measures t take, educatin is n tp f the list. When everyne in the schl fully understands the matter, a safer and healthier learning envirnment with cleaner air can be created.
