For those who have never been to Harbin, there's almost an endless list of things to do. Here are several activities that have to be included.
Turning water into instant ice
One can't go to the Ice-Snow World without stopping by the Sun Island Snow Expo. After all, the former is for appreciating illuminated(照亮的)ice at night, and the latter is for checking out snow in the daytime. Tourists from the south might be astonished by the bright sunshine reflected in the snow, so don't forget the sunscreen.
This is also a good place to toss(抛)water and watch it turn into ice instantly. Find a safe place with no one nearby, and enjoy the unique phenomenon.
Snow tubing(雪地滑轮胎)on the Songhua River
In winter, the Songhua River turns into “thousands of miles of ice” and becomes a natural ice-skating rink. The frozen river offers opportunities for many different winter activities. But make sure the ice is solid before going stomping(跺脚) in the snow.
Speeding down Yabuli Ski Resort
One place you shouldn't miss when visiting Harbin is Yabuli Ski Resort, where you can ski down splendid snow-covered mountains. The snow is thick and moderately hard. There are junior, middle and senior ski runs. Professional staff are available to improve your skiing ability.

As I walked into my new high school for the first time, I felt uncertain, nervous and lonely. I missed my old friends terribly. My head hurt with the thought of making new friends all over again.
What will my new friends be like? Will we like each other? Will I even make a friend? These questions were on my mind, as I walked over to a group of girls.
I didn't know anyone in my new school. It seemed like everyone was watching me, as if every head was turning towards me, waiting for me to make a wrong move.
I nervously said “hi” in a low voice, waving my hand at the group. Expecting them to start laughing and making fun of me, I was surprised when they waved back and asked me to sit with them.
As if a switch had been turned off, all the anxious thoughts that had been killing me were gone. A feeling of acceptance and excitement rushed over me as I happily chatted with the six girls, telling them more about myself.
Looking back at how anxious I was upon entering my new school for the first time, I now feel stupid for I had been losing my sleep over something so small. Being myself and being polite had worked out for me just fine. Being confident proved to be the key that fit perfectly into the lock on the door of friendship, the same door that I had been too scared to even knock on before.
I had never expected that by the end of the day I would have any friends at all, let alone six. What I learned from my experience was to welcome everyday surprises with open arms and to accept the good or bad feelings that fill our hearts, the same place where love lives and where new friends are welcomed.
24. Why did the author mention those questions in paragraph 2?
A. To express her needs.
B. To show her nervousness.
C. To show her hunger for knowledge.
D. To express her doubts about friendship.
25. What was unexpected to the author?
A. Being accepted by all the students.
B. The invitation from the group of girls.
C. Being laughed at by the group of girls.
D. The attention all the students paid to her.
26. What advice might the author give to new high school students?
A. Get enough sleep.
B. Keep in touch with old friends.
C. Believe in yourself.
D. Avoid saying something stupid.
27. What is the best title for the text?
A. Every dog has his day
B. Every bean has its black
C. Each new day holds a surprise
D. Each one thinks in his own way
C
Three minutes of looking at red light once a week may help our eyesight (the ability to see), new research suggests. The findings show that red light might be a cheap and easy treatment for declines in color vision as we get older.
Last year, researchers from University College London did a study on red light therapy. 24 healthy volunteers, aged between 28 and 72, were asked to look at red light for three minutes every day for two weeks. Tests later found that the eyesight of people over the age of 40 improved.
To test the possible weak points of their therapy, they did a new study this year. Instead of using the light every day, they used it once a week. The new study included 20 volunteers, aged between 34 and 70, all with healthy vision. Some received red light therapy in the morning, and others received it in the afternoon. They were then tested on their color vision up to a week later.
On the whole, those who got the treatment in the morning showed a 17% improvement in their color vision, even a week later. Those who got the treatment in the afternoon did not have any improvement.
“We've found that one single exposure to red light in the morning can greatly improve declining vision,” said lead author Glen Jeffrey.
The findings do support their earlier work, and they might make the treatment more practicable, since a once-weekly treatment is easier to stick to than a daily one. But the team's promising results are still drawn on small numbers of healthy volunteers. Larger studies would be needed to show the benefits of red light therapy.
“In the near future, a once-a-week three-minute exposure to deep red light could be done while making a coffee or listening to a song, and such a simple thing could change eye care and vision around the world,” Jeffrey said.
Given its low cost (as little as $15) per device, and simplicity, the team is excited about the future of their therapy.
28. What plays a key role in red light therapy?
A. The time of day for treatment.
B. The device used in the treatment.
C. The time that one treatment lasts.
D. The number of treatments received.
29. What makes it necessary to improve the study?
A. The age of the volunteers.
B. The number of the volunteers.
C. The poor vision of the volunteers.
D. The health condition of the volunteers.
30. In which column of a magazine can we find this article?
A. Travel. B. Business. C. Entertainment. D. Health.
31. What is the purpose of this text?
A. To state the importance of eye care.
B. To explain the value of deep red light.
C. To introduce a way to fight vision decline.
D. To encourage aged people to protect their eyesight.

World history has seen three ancient dramas: Greek tragedy and comedy; Indian Sanskrit drama; and Chinese opera. The first two have become historical and only Chinese opera has survived.
Chinese opera took shape in the 12th century. After developing for more than 800 years, its abundant local styles of opera are still enjoying great popularity, of which Qinqiang is one of the most ancient operas.
Qingiang opera is a thousand-year-old local opera originating in China's inland northwestern region. It has established a unique tradition as an “opera shouted out” with its high-pitched arias(高音唱腔). Li Mei has won a reputation as one of the four greatest Qinqiang actresses. She's also known for her passionate commitment to exploring the theatrical possibilities offered by Qinqiang.
Li Mei and her workmates are halfway through an afternoon rehearsal(排练)and most have broken into a sweat. Singing in a near-whisper, the forty-year-old opera star performs the stylized movements for the leading role—the bitter dead Lady Li Huiniang in Ghost's Hate.
Little wonder that Li Mei is such a powerful presence on stage. She's the greatest contributory actress who's able to interpret a character so compellingly and tell a story so convincingly that European audiences warmly hug this unfamiliar art form.
Li Mei said, “We performed this opera in the Netherlands to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the founding of Holland's National Theatre. We enjoyed a fifteen-minute curtain call and the audiences applauded wildly for a long time. The local press entitled me the ‘Nemesis of the Orient’ and the ‘Chinese Venus’. Why is that so? Because they've fully understood what the opera implied—the loyalty towards love, and dead as she may be, her love persists.
The reason why this opera was able to touch millions of hearts is that it has a beautiful story presented by a beautiful art form.
32. What can be inferred about Chinese opera from the text?
A. It made history with ancient Greek operas.
B. It consists of various dynamic local operas.
C. It has a history shorter than Indian Sanskrit drama.
D. It originated from the most ancient local Qingiang opera.
33. Why is Ghost's Hate starring Li Mei loved by foreigners?
A. Because its story is easy to be fully understood by foreigners.
B. Because its leading role Li Mei is famous as the “Chinese Venus”.
C. Because it conveys the popular message of loyalty towards love.
D. Because it is a perfect combination of touching plot and attractive form.
34. What might the underlined word “compellingly” mean in paragraph 5?
A. Persuasively. B. Boringly. C. Incorrectly. D. Partly.
35. What is Li Mei's greatest contribution to Qinqiang opera?
A. She won a reputation as one of the four greatest Qingiang actresses.
B. She brought Li Huiniang, the bitter dead Lady in Ghost's Hate to life.
C. She explored many theatrical possibilities offered by Qinqiang opera.
D. She spread one of Chinese traditional cultures to the other side of the world.

As a little boy, there was nothing I liked better than Sunday afternoons at my grandfather's farm in western Pennsylvania. Surrounded by miles of winding stonewalls, the house and barn provided endless hours of fun for a city kid like me. I was used to the city's bright and neat living rooms which always seemed to whisper, “Not to be touched!”
I can still remember one afternoon when I was eight years old. Since my first visit to the farm, I'd wanted more than anything to be allowed to climb the stonewalls surrounding the property. My parents would never approve. The walls were old: some stones were missing, others loose and crumbling (倒塌). Still, my desire to climb across those walls grew so strong that finally, one spring afternoon, I picked up all my courage and entered the living room, where the adults had gathered after Sunday dinner.
“I, uh, I want to climb the stonewalls,” I said hesitantly. Everyone looked up. “Can I climb the stonewalls?” Instantly a sound went up from the women in the room. “Oh, no!” they cried in shock. “Fred, you'll hurt yourself!” I wasn't too disappointed; the response was just as I'd expected. But before I could leave the room, I was stopped by my grandfather's booming voice. “Now hold on just a minute,” I heard him say, “Let the boy climb the stone-walls. He has to learn to do things for himself.”

1.续写词数应为150左右;

英语参考答案
听力部分录音材料
(Text 1)
W: Jim, you're late again.
M: Sorry. The concert went on for longer than had planned. Then I had to drop off my table tennis bats at the shop. They need repairing. Now let's go to the chess club.
(Text 2)
M: Your black coat looks very warm.
W: Yes. What I really love about it is this. Look, it's made of high-tech fabric. It's got a warm lining. You know how cold it is in winter.
(Text 3)
M: I heard you were in an incident yesterday. Are you OK now?
W: I'm fine. I arranged for my dad to pick me up in the car park like he always does, but he was nowhere to be seen when I got there. Luckily, he turned up about ten minutes later.
(Text 4)
M: Ella, what do you fancy doing this evening? There's nothing on at the cinema.
W: Why don't we have a game of tennis and then go out for something to eat?
(Text 5)
M: Mum, when I turned the laptop on just now, the screen went blue suddenly.
W: Why don't you take it to the shop?
M: Oh, I seem to remember something happened like this before, but a friend helped me out then. Maybe he can deal with it.
(Text 6)
M: I'm not very keen on the idea. I mean, you've got your exams coming up soon and you really need to get down to some serious hard work.
W: I know. Actually, I'm going to start tomorrow.
M: That's good to hear, because you've still got quite a lot to catch up from last time. I've told you that you won't be going out in the evenings if your marks don't improve.
W: But I'm only asking about this Sunday evening. It's only this once.
M: Provided you are home by nine. That's my last word on the matter.
(Text 7)
W: How about entering that competition to win a holiday, Ben? It's for a travel company called Travel Light. You just need to write a story and post it to their office.
M: When is the closing date?
W: The 10th of March; so you've only got two days. The results will be announced on the 18th.
M: I am not sure I would make it to the final selection, but I love writing stories so I am happy to do it. Where's their office?
W: We are now on Green Road. So go down this road two blocks and turn left into Jessie Street. Then walk along that street for ten minutes and turn left again into King Road. Their office is on your left. If you win, you can take a trip to Canada with your family. Fill in this form if you're interested.
M: Wow!Pass me a pen!
(Text 8)
W: Mark, do you want to eat mealworms?
M: What, mealworms, why do you ask?
W: Well, I read an article about mealworms to my students today. Researchers described the mealworm as a protein-rich food. They said a young form of an insect called larva can be eaten whole or crushed into small pieces for mixing with other foods, or made into biscuits.
M: Oh, it's a really scary thing.
W: Maybe, however, the U. N. Food and Agriculture Organization calls insects “a healthy and highly nutritious food source” with high amounts of “fat, protein, vitamins, fibers, and minerals”.
M: So does it approve such food?
W: Yes. Will you give such food a try? I just bought some mealworm biscuits.
M: OK.
(Text 9)
W: Tom, how did you get into making fruit bars?
M: Well, there are three of us-me, David and Alan. We met at university about twelve years ago. David studied business management. Alan studied economics and I intended to do the same but decided on geography instead. We started our own company together.
W: Now your company, Crunch, is very successful. Why do you think this is?
M: I think it's the quality of our products. Nearly all fruit bars contain extra sugar, and a few the cheaper ones contain colorings and flavorings. Crush bars are totally pure; we rely on the goodness of natural ingredients. They are made into almost any shape.
W: So, what's the future for Crunch?
M: We're working on increasing the amount of paper rather than plastic that we use for the wrappers. The immediate future is we're extending of the kinds of bars from five to eight varieties next month. We're thinking of expanding into desserts next year.
W: Good luck to you all.
(Text 10)
Last year, I volunteered for a hiking group in Bolivia. I'd planned to spend about nine months in South America—one month traveling around, then one month studying Spanish and the rest doing voluntary work in Bolivia. After my course, I went to Sucre to meet Simon there. I'd look into helping at nursing homes as well as for environmental projects, but then I came across Simon's organization, Vista, which takes groups of tourists to hike in the mountains. Simon came to Sucre four years ago. At first, he'd traveled around Central America, visiting places like Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Then he'd come to Bolivia. He'd planned to go back home to Australia, but four years later he was still there! To start with, I had to go with other guides to learn the routes. I'd done mountain hiking before so I wasn't bothered by the altitude. After a couple of weeks, I took my first group into the mountains. The profits were put back into a project with school-age children. It was a two-day hike. The only thing that went wrong was that my feet got blisters and ached badly! It was tiring, but it was well worth the effort.

Possible version 1
Dear John,
Learning that you are appointed the task to organize the Chinese Culture Festival, I am more than delighted to offer some suggestions.
Art is an inseparable part of Chinese culture, which includes paintings, dramas, handcrafts and so on. Therefore, it makes sense to arrange for a gallery exhibiting various traditional Chinese art forms. Additionally, the Chinese lay great significance and proud themselves on their traditional festivals. To get everyone involved, you can hold a couple of DIYs, such as making dumplings and zongzi to create a festival atmosphere.
The exchange between different cultures promotes communication and understanding between different nations. I'm confident that you are able to make the event a success with ample preparations.
Yours,
Li Hua
Possible version 2
Dear John,
Hearing that you are in charge of holding the Chinese Culture Festival at school, I'm writing to give you some advice.
To begin with, it's highly recommended that the festival should consist of paper-cutting, calligraphy and Chinese art paintings, which indicate Chinese traditional culture and convey the beauty of Chinese art. Additionally, some Chinese activities, Lion Dancing for example, can be included to motivate students' love for Chinese culture. To sum up, the programme not only gives your peers deep insight into Chinese culture but builds up interaction between British and Chinese people.
I hope my advice will be of help to you and I'm looking forward to your good news.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节:读后续写
“Scoot(快走),” he said to me with a wink(眨眨眼), “and come and see me when you get back.” For the next two and a half hours I climbed those old walls and had the time of my life. Later I met with my grandfather to tell him about my adventure. I'll never forget what he said. “Fred,” he said, grinning, “you made this day a special day just by being yourself. Always remember, there's only one person in this whole world like you, and I like you exactly as you are.”
Many years have passed since then, and I am now a host of a well-known television program. I host the television program Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, seen by millions of children throughout America. There have been changes over the years, but one thing remains the same: my message to children at the end of almost every visit, “There's only one person in this whole world like you, the kids can count on hearing me say,” and people can like you exactly as you are.
