答案以及解析
1. 答案:
Recently an online survey on traveling has been conducted. In the survey, people are asked about how often and why they travel, and the results are as follows.
Chart 1 shows that 33% of the people often go traveling. Nearly half of the people do it now and then, while those who seldom go out to travel account for 21%.
As is shown in Chart 2, people travel for different purposes. The largest percentage of people, about 48%, put enjoying beautiful natural scenery in the first place for their travel. Over a quarter of them enjoy learning about customs and 20% prefer to visit places of interest. Also there are a small number of people who travel mainly for shopping. As for me, traveling is not only a good way to relax but also a chance to broaden my horizons.
2. 答案:
Chart 1 shows the daily average amount of time the students of the school spend on different after-class activities. The students put the most time – 93 minutes – into their homework, and next in line is watching TV, which takes up 46 minutes. They put in about the same amount of time listening to music and working on the computer, 34 minutes and 30 minutes each. While 25 minutes is put on sports, only 12 minutes goes into housework.
As is shown on Chart 2, only 10% of the time is taken up with sports activities. I think the school should encourage the students to do more exercise after class. This way, they may be healthier and more energetic.
3. 答案:
Recently, we conducted a survey on short-sightedness among the fifty students in our class. According to the survey, twenty students have good eyesight, while thirty students are short-sighted. We found that eighteen students became short-sighted due to watching TV or sitting in front of a computer for a long time. Nine students said their poor posture led to their short-sightedness. Three other students had other reasons for their poor eyesight. Thus, the main reason for short-sightedness is that some students don't use their eyes properly.
Our eyes are very important to us. We should protect them all the time. We should not watch TV or surf the Internet for hours without breaks. We should also read in a correct way. Furthermore, doing eye exercises is good for our eyes.
4. 答案:
Dear Editor,
I am a Senior Three student. Recently we have carried out a survey —"To whom do you go when in trouble?" The results are as follows. 61% of the students surveyed select friends or schoolmates as their ideal listeners when they have troubles, the reason of which is that they are in the same age group and have a better understanding of each other. Another 22% choose teachers and parents to talk to. They suggest that teachers and parents are rich in life and educational experience. Nevertheless, there are also 17% who don't share their troubles at all. They say that their troubles are none of others' business. They find it hard to get along with others.
It is not easy to reach definite conclusions based on such a survey example. However, some general comments can be made. It seems clear from the response that some students lack communication with others and teachers and parents need to play a more important role in their lives.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
5. 答案:
Dear Editor,
We made a survey in our school last week and I'd like to tell you something about the results.
As is demonstrated in the bar chart, using papers to study occupies 47%, followed by the percentage of 38% students in my school, who get used to use all the three means of study. 11% of the students surveyed prefer to use computers. Students who think smartphones can help their study account for the rest of 4%.
Apparently, the traditional way of study students read books and take notes in pen is still the choice by most students. Computers or phones usage is supposed to do harm to eyesight, which is the reason why a small number of students choose. As far as I am concerned, if used properly, all these means of study can benefit us.
6. 答案:
A recent survey shows what the students of our school like to do in their spare time. From the pie chat, we can see 53% of the students like sports, so doing sports is the most popular activity in our school. The second popular activity for students is surfing the Internet and 36 % of the students have interest in it. Only a few students, about 8 percent of them, take reading as a hobby. And even fewer are fond of playing musical instruments. In my point of view, our school should have more sports facilities built to satisfy the need of the students. Guidance should be given to students on surfing the Internet and ways must be found to arouse students' interests in reading and music.
7. 答案:
Dear Jack,
Recently I did a survey about the health problems in our class, and the result worries a lot. As is apparently shown in the survey, many middle school students have problems both physically and mentally, with 70% of students having learning anxiety as well as poor eyesight, and a larger percentage lacking sleep. Coming next is the lack of physical exercise.
As far as I am concerned, we students should balance our physical exercise and studies. Without a sound body one cannot achieve anything. However, too much attention has been paid only to studies. Therefore, I suggest we be given less homework and more time for out-of-classroom activities to solve all the problems.
Yours,
Li Hua
8. 答案:
Dear Joe,
How is everything going? I'm writing to talk about financial sources of college students, which are quite different between in China and in America. According to d Survey, in China, students get 90%of their money from their parents while in America, only 45%of students' money is provided by parents. In addition, Chinese students earn only 5%from part—time jobs and 5%from scholarship while income from these two sources for American students takes up 40%and 15%.
Several factors can account for the above differences. For one thing, independence is highly honored in American society. For another, American students have a more flexible schedule to do part—time jobs. Another contributing factor is that Chinese students take parents' financial support for granted.
I believe Chinese students will realize and pay more attention to the necessity of self—reliance, and more part—time opportunities will be provided for them.

Li Hua
