It's one school where teachers will not be able to send dunces (后进生) to stand in the corner—because every classroom is round．All eight classrooms at the new school are built round．Teachers will stand in the middle with pupils sitting in a circle all around him．And instead of an old­fashioned blackboard，a projector (投影仪) will bounce(反射) words and pictures onto the classroom walls．The $4 million school is being built in the former mining village of Abergwynfi，near Neath，South Wales．

Teachers and architects believe the classroom will be a big success．They believe that the 360 degree classrooms will give pupils a new learning experience and no chance to hide behind their desks in the back row．Neath Port Talbot Council spokesman Gareth Nutt said，“The teacher is in the centre of the classroom among the pupils．No one is at the back of the class and no one is at the front．”The classrooms，all grouped around a circular main building，make it look as if a flight of UFOs has landed in the village．Hi­tech features include windows which open and close automatically depending on the temperature．Local schoolboy Morgan Jones，10，said，“It looks cool — a lot better than old­fashioned schools．”

Some adults are less impressed．One parent said，“I have lovely memories of going to the old school in the village — it was a happy place with good teachers．The classrooms were square and the desks all lined up in rows with the best children in the front and the worst at the back—what was wrong with that？Everyone knew where they were then．It is not the shape of the classroom that is important but the teacher giving the lessons anyway．”

Do you like running enough to make it a habit? Tierney Wolfgram does；she has made running a lifelong career and isn't stopping．

In February，the 16­year­old from a high school，US，competed at the 2020 US Olympic Trials．She finished the marathon(42.195 km) with a time of 2：42：47 as the youngest competitor in the race and ranked 76th out of 390 runners．However，the cross­country(越野的)season was postponed to winter because of the COVID­19．So she jumped at the opportunity to train for another race—the Parkway Marathon in California．In November，Wolfgram broke the Women's American Junior marathon record with her time of 2：31：49．The old record was 2：34：32，which had stood since 1984．

“I'm completely stunned，”said Wolfgram's coach．“I knew she was going to break it，but she really showed out！”

During the run，Wolfgram once hit a wall pretty hard，but she overcame it to finish．“I guess I can say I gave it my all，”she told Runner's World．“When I finished，all I was thinking was I felt super happy，” Wolfgram said．This was only her third marathon．In 2018，when Wolfgram was 15 years old，she ran her first marathon just because she wanted to see if she had the ability to do it．“I believed that I would get faster as the distances got longer．．．I'm still glad that I did it．”

When preparing for that first marathon，she ran up to 120 miles per week．Although her parents didn't have any background in running，they helped Wolfgram train．At first，her dad would take her out in the morning and run about 13 miles．The distance would gradually increase each day．On top of her runs in the morning，she would do cross­country practice after school．

Now Wolfgram will consider attending the Olympics Games in 2024 after it's scheduled．

As I watched Tyler thank them，I felt pride．After a few minutes，we left the store，and I thought to myself，“What a beautiful moment！” But then Tyler asked a question that would change our lives and the lives of countless others forever．

“Why were the police so happy about that snack？”

I went on to explain that some people are not always kind to police officers and have even hurt them．Tyler was very sad to hear this，and decided that he was going to thank every policeman in the country and buy them each a doughnut!

I was quite shocked by his response，but it never occurred to me to say “no”．In fact，I thought it was an unachievable idea．I suggested many other choices，such as doing a local thank­you event for police，but nothing I said was enough for this young，determined child on a new found mission(任务)．

I had no idea how to put all of this enthusiasm into action，but I knew one thing．Tyler had found his purpose，and it was my duty as his parent to help him achieve it．I sent an e­mail to our local police office and asked if Tyler could host a thank­you event for them．They were very happy．At the event，Tyler was introduced as “The Donut Boy”，a name that has become known throughout the nation．
