There's a saying that nothing is perfect. 11 Chinese people disagree. They believe there is one perfect thing and that is "a heavenly dress without seams", or "Tian Yi Wu Feng". This saying comes from a 12 that was experienced by a young man called Guo Han. He 13 in a small village a long time ago.
One hot summer night, Guo could not fall asleep, so he 14 the house and sat down on a straw mattress(草垫) in his courtyard to 15 the coolness outside. Looking at the dark curtain(帘) of the sky, dotted with a bright 16 and little stars, he lost himself in a reverie(幻想). He thought of the legend(传说) of the goddess of the moon and the moving story 17 Niu Lang and Zhi Nu.
"Now that the beautiful woman weaver is living in heaven(天堂), all the 18 clouds we can see at dawn(黎明) and in the evening must be her works." he thought. Just then, a cloud in the dark sky changed 19 before his eyes, and a beautiful young woman came down into his courtyard.
He could not believe his eyes. "I must be dreaming," he said to 20 , but he clearly saw the beautiful young woman standing in front of him. After a while, the young man asked her, "Are you really a goddess from heaven?" The woman answered, "I am the woman weaver 21 appeared in your imagination just a moment ago.
The young man was so 22 . He looked the beautiful woman up and down and found that her dress had no seams and it was truly 23 . He asked, "Did you make your dress yourself? Why is it made 24 seams?" She answered, "Yes, I made it. This is a heavenly dress, so it has no seams. "
When the young man woke from his dream, the lady was gone, but the next morning, he couldn't wait to tell his 25 to all his neighbors.
Today, "Tian Yi Wu Feng" has become a popular saying among Chinese speakers. So, if there’s anything perfect in this world, it must be as perfect as the "seamless heavenly dress".

Exams are a time of great stress. This is especially true in East Asia, where students have come up with some interesting ways to make sure they can pass.
In recent years, KitKat has been marketing itself as a bringer of good luck. Pronounced as “kittokatto” by the Japanese, the chocolate's name is similar to the phrase “kittokatsu”, meaning “surely winning”. This certainly makes KitKat a good symbol of good luck.
In your allnight revision(复习) with microwave food and highlighter pens before exams, you may have forgotten to take a shower. But South Korean students wouldn't worry about that. It's believed that washing your hair could wash all the knowledge out.
Around a month before exams start in Hong Kong, students in clubs, societies and classrooms will get together for “superpass”, or gingguo(劲过,粤语俚语). “Superpass” is a series of activities aimed at helping you pass your exams with a top score. The first part is the superpass dinner, which is usually held at a Chinese restaurant. It's important that students eat pork cubes with cashews(腰果肉丁), one of the main superpass dishes. The Chinese word for “cashews” sounds like the words for “wish to pass”.

Waving (向……挥手) her 5-year-old daughter goodbye, Wang Yaping, together with Zhai Zhigang and Ye Guangfu, went into space aboard the Shenzhou XIII on Oct. 16th.
The 41-year-old Wang became the first female astronaut to enter Tiangong space station. During their six-month stay, Wang, along with Zhai and Ye, will do experiments and set up robotic arms. Wang will also do the first spacewalk by a Chinese woman, reported Xinhua. Wang’s space dream started in 2003, when China sent its first astronaut Yang Liwei into space. She told herself, “China now has a male astronaut. When will there be a female one?” At that time, Wang was a pilot in the Chinese army.
After having safe flights for 1,600 hours over nine years, Wang was a strong candidate to become an astronaut in 2010. She pushed herself hard, getting the same training as men, including the pull-ups (引体向上) and barbells (杠铃). “The space environment won’t change because you are a woman,” she told Xinhua.
The hardest part is the high-G training. Sitting in a spinning (旋转的) machine, Wang would become blind for a while because her brain was short of blood. “There’s a red button (按钮),” said Wang. “If you can’t bear it, you can press it to stop.” But Wang never used it. “There is no such red button in my heart.”
That strong spirit finally led to realizing her dream in 2013. She joined the team for the Shenzhou X mission (任务).
Wang said that as astronauts, women have their own advantages. “Women tend (倾向于) to be more patient and can better deal with loneliness. Women’s hearts are also easier to adapt to(适应) the weightless environment, making them more suitable for long-term missions.”
Retired NASA astronaut Catherine Coleman sent a greeting to Wang before the Shenzhou XIII trip. Coleman said, “When you look out the window and see the stars and the earth, billions of women will be looking out that window with you.” Wang carries the spirit of every young woman who dreams of something big.

Smartphones are getting boring. The new models are either a bit faster or have better cameras, but they are basically no different from the ones already in our pockets. This is why scientists are hoping, and working for something new, something that will change our lives just as greatly as smartphones do. At the moment, the next invention might be smart glasses.
Just imagine. Instead of having to pick up your phone and look at the screen, all of the information you need simply appears just in front of you, in your glasses. Satellite navigation(导航) directions would appear right there on the road. And your smart glasses could guide you to the right shelf in the supermarket!
Smart glasses could also be used in industry(工业). They could show engineers the instructions they need to fix things more quickly. A doctor could carry out a difficult operation(手术), guided in real time by someone on the other side of the world.
This may sound impossible. But most of the technologies to invent them are already there. For example, one key technology is called AR, which can make digital 3D objects appear as if they are part of the real world. We've used it a lot on our video calls. Similarly, huge progress has been made in spatial audio(立体声). This is when a sound is made to give it a sense of place, like what you hear in an empty room. Some high-end earphones can already do that. Future glasses will of course need to recognize (识别) your voice to do tasks. This technology has been widely used in our daily life.
So, why aren't we all wearing smart glasses yet? So far, no one has invented a good way to send images(映像) of our world onto glasses. However, with the rapid development of technology, smart glasses could arrive much sooner than we think.
( )48. Why does the writer mention smartphones in Paragraph 1?
A. To start a story B. To explain an idea
C. To introduce a topic D. To discuss a problem
( )49. What are Paragraph 2 and 3 mainly about?
A. When smart glasses might be made.
B. Where smart glasses could be used.
C. How smart glasses would give directions.
D. Why smart glasses should be changed.
( )50. Which of the following technologies needs to be improved to invent smart glasses?
A. Making spatial audio B. Recognizing voices
C. Creating digital 3D objects D. Sending images onto glasses
( )51.How might the writer feel about the future of smart glasses?
A. Bored B. Certain C. Satisfied D. Doubtful(怀疑的)
