[2022·南昌市一模]Cecilia Chiang, whse San Francisc restaurant, The Mandarin, intrduced American diners in the 1960s t the richness and variety f authentic Chinese cuisine, died n Wednesday at her hme in San Francisc.

[2022·安徽省名校联盟质量检测]The use f scial media has been linked t mental health prblems in teenagers. But a new study frm England argues that the issue may be mre cmplex than experts think.
The new research interviewed 10,000 teenagers, wh reprted the frequency they used scial media. The frequency f mre than three times a day was cnsidered “very frequent”. But the researchers, fr the first time, went a step further t investigate what kind f websites made the teenagers frequenters. They fund that, in bth sexes, very frequent visits t scial media with negative (负面的) cntents were assciated with greater mental depressin and anxiety.
“Our results suggest scial media itself desn't cause harm, but that frequent use may disrupt (使中断) activities that psitively influence mental health such as sleeping and exercising, while increasing expsure f yung peple t harmful cntents,” said Russell Viner, the cauthr f the UCL Great Ormnd Street Institute f Child Health.
It's an imprtant discvery. Just last mnth, research frm Canada shwed that higher level f the use f scial media was linked with increased mental depressin in adlescents.
With this study, the prblem is put in a better cntext. It's nt necessarily scial media that are causing these issues. It's mre likely the cntents that yung peple are expsed t and their hindrance (妨碍) f healthy sleep and exercise.
Bb Pattn, a lecturer at the University f Surrey, said this means that remedies fcusing nly n reducing the use f scial media t imprve mental health might nt help. “Finding ways t imprve the nline cntents and prmte better sleep and exercise is needed t reduce physical and psychlgical harm,” said he.
“If healthy lifestyles can be kept, the psitive effects f the use f scial media, such as encuraging scial interactins, can be mre supprted,” said Ann DeSmet, an assistant prfessr at the University f Antwerp in Belgium.

“This finding is the first demnstratin that the smell f cean plastics causes animals t eat them,” said Dr.Kenneth J.Lhmann, wh tk part in the study. “It's cmmn t find lggerhead turtles with their digestive systems fully r partially blcked because they've eaten plastic materials. There are als increasing reprts f sea turtles that have becme ill and stranded n the beach due t their ingestin f plastic.”
