For tech-crazy travellers, below are four most advanced tech destinations to visit.
Silicon Valley, America
Home to many of the world' s largest high-tech corporations.
In Apple Park, the Visitor Center is the only part tourists are permitted to visit. There are four main areas : an Apple Store featuring Apple-branded goods not sold at regular Apple stores, a cafe, an exhibition space, and a roof terrace (露台)overlooking the campus.

Many world-famous technology companies built their Chinese headquarters and research centers in Zhongguancun Technology Park, such as Google, Intel.

In some apartment buildings, Internet speeds reach up to 52. 5 Gbit/s.
Bangalore, India
The "IT capital of India” plays a role as the nation's leading IT exporter. Around 47% of the 265 biotechnology companies in India are located in Bangalore. Radio was known as a stress reliever in the past, but a few charms (魅力)have been lost with the digitalization of music.
George Oliver Jr. realized that radio should be brought back and should compete with the existing music streaming platforms. He decided to take the radio online. As George has been a Disc Jockey for most of his life, he could relate the radio with the music trends.
Starting an online radio site and maintaining (维护)it was not as easy as it seemed. Realmuzic. net began with a rough start. Not many people knew about this online radio station. They were so consumed by the new tech that they did not want to go back to the radio-centric music streaming service.
Giving up was not a good choice, so George decided to target the 80's and 90's kids with the nostalgic (怀旧的)playlists that played 24/7 on Realmuzic. net. He and his team saw a massive increase in their site-visits. Their excellent song selection allowed the listeners to take a trip down memory and the good old times they spent listening to the radio stations.

Born in the Internet time, the concept of radio seemed very foreign to them. Challenges excited George, so he took it upon himself to make radio appealing for Gen Z.
To both preserve the existing audience and attract the new, Gen Z, they updated their playlists, organized different shows, called many modern-day artists on the radio shows, and better the user experience of their website.
Today Realmuzic. net is listened to by 52 million music lovers across 120 countries. As the CEO of Realmuzic. net, George Oliver Jr. works with an amazingly talented team who have the same vision as their CEO.

This past year, I've found myself returning again and again to lines of poetry by Emily Dickinson. Like many people, I've needed the curing effects of reading more than ever. As scientists and psychologists will tell you, books are good for the brain and their benefits are particularly vital now.
Books expand our world, providing an escape and offering novelty, surprise and excitement. They broaden our view and help us connect with others. Books can also distract (分心) us and help reduce our mental chatter. When we hit the “flow state" of reading where we' re fully lost in a book, our brain's mode network calms down. It's a network of brain that is active and gets absorbed in thinking and worrying endlessly when we are not doing anything else.
There is so much noise in the world right now and the very act of reading is kind of meditation (冥想). You disconnect from the chaos around you. You reconnect with yourself when you are reading. And there’s no more noise.
In 2020, the NPD Group recorded the best year of book sales since 2004. Yet even as people are buying more books, many are reporting they're having a harder time gelling through them. It's difficult for your brain to focus on a book when it's constantly scanning for threats (威胁)to keep you alive. Our fight — or — flight response has been consistently activated.
Sometimes I picture my brain as a cartoon brain with little arms and legs, fighting with a book I am holding and screaming : " Can't you see I'm busy!” Anxiety causes our brain to produce a flood of stress, which consumes our energy and makes it harder to concentrate.
Then one day in December sitting on my couch, I remembered how much I like to read ”The House of Mirth" every few years around the holidays. The memory inspired me to pick up the familiar book, opened it up and started reading. I just kept going. The comfort and distraction and brain-opening experience gave me peace. So return to something familiar.
8. What does the underlined part "mental chatter' in Paragraph 2 mean?
A. Getting lost in a book. B. Non-stop inner anxiety.
C. Chatting with the author. D. Powerful network of brain.
9. What do we know about reading according to the text?
A. It can treat our headache.
B. It can calm down the noisy people.
C. It forces us to concentrate on thinking.
D. It makes us communicate with ourselves.
10. Why was it difficult for people to finish reading books in 2020?
A. People bought too many books.
B. The books were too difficult to understand.
C. People just wanted to escape from the threat.
D. The life threat disturbed people's focus on books.
11, Why is the author's experience mentioned in the last paragraph?
A. To rid people of concern for safety.
B. To wake up memories of an old book.
C. To present an effective reading way.
D. To show the fun reading brought about.

According to astronomers, an asteroid (行星)named “Apophis” , is expected to pass extremely close to or may hit the Earth in 2068 due to a phenomenon called Yarkovsky effect.
All asteroids need to reradiate the heat they absorb from sunlight in order to keep heat balance. It slightly changes the orbit of the asteroid. Researchers have detected Yarkovsky acceleration on Apophis, which arises from a weak force on an object due to non-uniform (不统一)heat radiation. This force is particularly important for Apophis as it affects the probability of an Earth hit in 2068, the astronomers said.
A NASA scientist has said that our best hope is to build an interceptor (拦截器)rocket that could be used in direction-changing tasks. NASA plans to study the asteroid for about a year and test direction-changing techniques that one day may be necessary to save the Earth from a potentially catastrophic collision.
A researcher with NASA, Dr. Joseph Nuth warned that while dangerous asteroids and comets (彗星)rarely hit the Earth, the threat was always there.
In 1996, a comet narrowly missed our planet, and again in 2014, a comet passed within universal spitting distance of Mars. According to Nuth, comets are often only discovered when it's too late to start a direction-changing task. "If you look at the schedule for high-reliability spacecraft, it takes five years to launch one. We only had 22 months of total warning."
Nuth advised that NASA build an interceptor rocket alongside an observer spacecraft, which could cut the five-year delay to launch in half. And if a rocket could be launched within a year, Nuth said it "could greatly reduce the possibility of an asteroid coming in from a hard — to — preserve place, like from the sun.”
12. What does the underlined word "It” in the second paragraph refer to?
A. The heat. B. The balance.
C. Resending out the heat. D. Taking in the heat.
13. What is the possible way to save the Earth according to the text?
A. To launch an interceptor rocket.
B. To detect the track of the asteroid.
C. To reduce the radiation from the sun.
D. To slow down the speed of the asteroid.
14. What did Nuth attach great importance to?
A. The difficulty to protect the sun.
B. Predicting the catastrophe ahead of time.
C. The least possibility for a comet to hit the Earth.
D. Shortening the time needed to launch a rocket.
15. What is the best title for the text?
A. 2014 : Months of Warning! B. 2068 : the End of the Earth?
C. The End of the World is Coming D. Discussion about Space Science

My son and I like to go to my parents' home in the countryside. There are my warm memories, in which I was brought up with my parents caring and loving me without asking for anything in return. It's also a paradise (乐园)for my son, whose curiosity, observation and exploration are met greatly. Everything in his grandparents' yard, either from tiny flowers to big trees, or from tiny ants to big dogs attracts Tom.
Last month I took my son Tom to see his grandparents. When we arrived, my father and mother were so happy to see us. Tom's grandma hugged and kissed Tom excitedly. Then his grandpa took
him to the yard to play. My mom went to her kitchen to prepare our meal.
At lunch table, Tom told me, proudly, Dad, I saw a hen flying. ”
“You're kidding me!” I said without thinking, "How can a hen fly?”
“Dad, to see is to believe. In the yard, the dog ran after the hen. Finally the hen was forced to a corner. When the panicked hen found no other way out, her wings suddenly beat wildly. She flew off the ground and screamed up to the roof. The hen escaped successfully. Dad, I didn't know a hen could fly before. Why can a hen fly?”
I thought for a while and said, “Maybe because of love. The hen loves her own life. Although she was scared by the dog, she was still aware that she must spare no effort to save herself from the big enemy. It is the love for herself that stirs (激起)her inner power and she flies!”
Tom nodded. He seemed to have understood.
Last weekend we visited Tom's grandparents again. This time I heard Tom shouting from the yard, "Dad! The dog is chasing (追赶)the hen again! Come to see!”
I ran out of the house quickly.
