应用文
Dear Mr Robert,
How is everything going these days? I’m Li Hua. My classmates and I have difficulty adapting a short play from the text Turandot. Now, I’m writing to ask for your guidance.
In the play, Turandot, a stubborn and cruel Chinese princess, avoiding marriage at first, ends up marrying the prince Calaf. However, confused and upset, we fail to use proper tone to express the characters’ feelings vividly. Hopefully, you will do us a favor.
If it’s convenient for you, let’s meet at 10: 30 on Saturday morning in the school library.
Looking forward to your apply.
Yours sincerely
Li Hua
读后续写
Allison tried to turn the boat so we would hit the wave head on, but it was in vain. The crash of the enormous waves was so fierce that the boat turned over in an instant, throwing all of us into the turbulent water. Panic-stricken, I floated up and down at the mercy of it. All of a sudden, Allison yelled at the top of her lungs, “Keep swimming!” Hearing the screams, Jenny and I sped to swim towards the shore desperately. Having struggled for miles, I was exhausted and gradually lost my consciousness.
When I awoke I didn’t know where I was. I glanced around, only to find Allison and Jenny staring at me anxiously. “Are you OK?” Jenny asked concernedly. I nodded weakly and asked them what had happened. Pointing at the strangers around us, Jenny explained excitedly, “Spotted by the rescue team, we escaped narrowly.” I gazed at them gratefully, tears rolling down my cheeks. Then I embraced them tight, murmuring in a choked voice, “It is so kind of you to have saved us...”
附件1:听力原文
Text 1
M: How much did your dress cost?
W: I bought it in Wal-Mart. It was expensive — it cost 200 yuan. I found the same item in a Chinese store for 20% less.
Text 2
M: To be honest, I feel like I’m trying to sell myself to the company.
W: That’s natural. Just try to speak confidently. You deserve the job, and they’d be lucky to have someone like you.
Text 3
W: Mr. Atkinson is arriving today. His flight is due at 4: 00 p.m. Someone has to go and meet him at the airport.
M: I’d like to, but my car has a flat tire.
Text 4
W: Did Renee check the spelling in the letters?
M: Yes, she did. All the words are correct and she already put stamps on them. She’s on her way to the post office now.
Text 5
M: Can you make an extra stop for me today at High Street and Second Avenue? I know you don’t usually stop there, but I’m visiting my mother-in-law.
W: I’ve seen you on this bus every week for ten years, so I can definitely make an exception for you.
Text 6
M: Hi, Jane! I hear you’re leaving for Washington this weekend.
W: No, I’m not going anywhere now.
M: Why? What happened?
W: I lost my train ticket.
M: Oh, no! Where do you think you lost it?
W: I’m sure that I had my ticket this morning. When I was in the bank changing money, I saw it in my purse.
M: Where did you go after that?
W: To the gym. After that, I went to a shop. I’m almost certain that the ticket fell out of my purse in the shop as I was buying a drink.
Text 7
M: What are you doing tomorrow, Mary?
W: I have been very tired these days. I just want to stay at home and listen to some music.
M: But it’s a good time to go out and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Let’s go mountain climbing.
W: But it’s a long way away.
M: Well, let’s go to see a movie.
W: John, I’m just too tired to do anything. Jenny wants to see a movie on Saturday, though. I can call her and book your tickets in advance.
M: Good. Don’t forget to tell her to bring her student card. There is a 50% discount on Saturday.
W: But last Monday, it was only a 20% discount.
M: Well, from Monday to Friday, it is a 20% discount. On Sunday, it is a 30% discount. But there is usually a bigger discount on Saturday.
W: I see.
Text 8
M: What happened? You have mud all over you, and your trousers are torn. What did you do?
W: I tried to learn how to ride a bicycle. Johnny promised he wouldn’t let go, but he lied. I hit a stone and flew off onto the ground.
M: Did you hurt your leg?
W: No, but my left hand hurts a little.
M: Why did you try to ride a bike?
W: I thought it would be fun. But now I know it isn’t.
M: So, you have decided to give up?
W: Yes. I’d prefer to go to school on foot. It’s much safer.
M: But every kid in our neighborhood knows how to ride a bike. I think you should learn, too. Come on, I’ll teach you.
W: But I have never seen you ride a bike before.
M: That doesn’t mean I can’t ride one. I just have no chance to ride one now.
Text 9
M: Good morning. I’d like to open a current bank account, please.
W: Certainly. I’ll just get some details from you. First of all, can I have your full name please?
M: It’s Peter Henes. That’s H-E-N-E-S.
W: OK. And what’s your date of birth?
M: August 27, 1983.
W: And where are you living, Mr. Henes?
M: 15 Riverside Street. I only arrived here two months ago.
W: OK. Do you have a daytime telephone number?
M: Yes, the number at my office is 626195. Um, Just a minute, I’d better check. Oh, sorry, it’s 646195.
W: OK. And your occupation?
M: I’m here in Britain as a project manager but my main job is an engineer.
W: I’ll put that down. Now, how much will you open your account with? We usually ask for a minimum sum of £50.
M: OK. £2000.
W: And how often would you like to receive statements? Weekly?
M: I’d like to have them sent once a month. By the way, I’m thinking of registering for your Internet service at some stage.
W: OK. Would you like me to send you information about that?
M: Yes. please. Thank you very much.
Text 10
Good morning, boys and girls. Welcome to our sports camp. Before you are divided into groups, I’d like to give you some information about the plans for this week. During your time here, you’ll play at least 12 different sports. In the mornings, there are plenty of programs including physical training, skiing, and visiting the stadiums. But you will have a free choice for afternoon activities. And on Tuesday night, you’ll see a movie about a world-record holder. Now, a quick word about clothes: you can wear your sports suits for most sports. But you should remember to take your swimsuits with you on Wednesday, because we’ll have a swimming lesson in the afternoon. Throughout the camp, we’ll do both outdoor sports and indoor activities. So, please make sure that you have two pairs of sports shoes with you, too. Lunches are served in the dining room between half past twelve and a quarter to two. We also have a shopping center where you can buy drinks, chocolates, biscuits, and other snacks. But a word of warning: don’t eat too much at any given time, or you won’t be able to run as fast as you want to. You’ll all go home next Friday.
