    第二节  阅读七选五(共5小题,每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)

    阅读下面短文从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。

Books have a beginning, a middle and an end. 32  To properly read a book, you should pay attention to its importance. For non-fiction books, it is important to read text in its entirety but think about only the major points the author is trying to express.

Choose a well-lit and quiet place to read your book. 33 You are more likely to concentrate on the words on the page if you are not affected by noises or other things.

Decide how much time you want to devote to the reading. You may want to adjust this time allotment according to how long and difficult the reading material is. 34

35 If you own your book, use note-taking symbols in the paragraphs. For example, if you find something that is important, put a star or a few words next to it. If you are unsure of something and it needs more research, put a question mark next to it.

Write answers to questions at the end of your reading and give definitions of important terms. For every 100 pages of text you should have at least three to five pages of written notes. 36 If you are using a computer to take notes, don’t copy and paste text from your reading.

    AWrite in your book

    BMake a detailed plan

CUse your own words to answer your questions

DAs such they should be read from start to finish

    E. Turn off your cell phone and television so that your attention won’t be disturbed

    F. Therefore, stop every now and then to think about the structure and main content

    G. For example, spend 4 hours on detailed reading of a 250-page book and 1 hour on note-taking

    阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。字数:150词左右

Lately, I was deeply touched with two movies about faithful dogsA Dog's Purpose and A Dog's Way Home. A dog's life cycled and cycled only to meet his first owner while the other covered 400 miles of toil and hunger all the way back to her home. I had a faithful dog too when I was a little girl, but it was a different story.

When my dad first took him home in a cardboard box, he was so quiet that I even doubted whether there was really a dog in it. When I peeped through two small holes on the side, I just saw a patch of grey fur. My dad assured me that it was just a small dog before I dared to open the box. There he was! What a lovely grey dog! He was slim and looked smart. I was on my knees as I cheerfully observed him. However, he tried to avoid eye contact with me, apparently a little scared with everything strange around. I wanted to pet his head but he only turned his head away.

When he became familiar with me, I called him Billy and he was really delighted, zagging his tail. Every time I left for school, he saw me off. When I came back, he ways waited on my way home and greeted me with his licks and brushed his head against legs. When Billy was in the kitchen with my father, lying on a small heap of firewood side the furnace (灶),he could always know which piece of firewood my dad would pick and raised his paw in time. It always surprised me how intelligent and considerate Billy I imagined him turning into a small boy carrying my schoolbag for me and talking my dad. With Billy brightening every day of my childhood, I was more than happy.

    Paragraph 1

But one day, Billy was seriously ill.

    ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Paragraph 2

A few years later, I went to a dog's shelter to try my luck.

Last Sunday my classmates and I paid a visit to the elderly who live in the nursing home, which is located in the suburb of our city.

We gathered at the city park and went there by bus. It took us half an hour to get there. As soon as we arrived, we began to chat and play games with them. They were happy to be with us and told us some stories. When we left, we said goodbye to them and promised to visit them next time.

This activity helped me realize that it is rewarding to show concern about those in need. I feel a sense of achievement.

    四、  读后续写(满分25分)

    【答案】One possible version

But one day, Billy was seriously ill. I took him to the pet doctor. The doctor said it was nothing serious and prescribed medicine for him. After returning home, I began to take good care of him. He was so smart that every time I held him, he would look at me gratefully. But his cough got worse and worse, and gradually he could not eat. I was worried about him, but in the end he just left me. I had been sad for a long time, but not been able to find a dog that could replace him.

A few years later, I went to a dog's shelter to try my luck. When I went in, I found a gray dog that looked like Billy. As I looked at him, he tried to avoid eye contact with me, which was just like Billy. I was so happy that I decided to take him home. I gave him a bath and he began to grow closer to me. After that, I became more and more fond of him, and I could feel his closeness to me. I named him Coco. He is unique and I believe he will bring me a lot of happiness.
