    Peter, a 5-year-ld by, shwed such great interest in sea shells that he wuld rush t pick them up with his 3-year-ld sister, Shirley. They screamed ut their jy as Peter cllected his treasure int his pckets. Fr Peter, sea shells lay shinning n the peaceful beach, waiting fr him, just like stars twinkling (闪烁) in the sky. As waves tuched them, they seemed t be flwers blming (绽放)in gentle wind.
    One day, Peter was wandering thrugh market with Shirley, with sme shells in his pcket. Suddenly Peter fund his yunger sister was lagging (落后) behind. He stpped and lked back, finding Shirley was standing in frnt f a ty shp and was staring at smething with great interest.
    The by went back t her and asked, “What d yu want?” Shirley pinted at the dll, wearing a smile n her inncent face. Peter held his yunger sister’s tiny hand, walking int the shp. He tipted (踮起脚尖) t reach fr the dll, and like a respnsible elder brther, gave the precius dll t Shirley. Hlding tightly the dll, the sister was very very happy.
    The shpkeeper was watching everything and getting amused t see the matured (成熟的) behavir f the by. Nw the by came t the cunter and asked the shpkeeper, “Hw much des this dll cst, Sir?”
    The shpkeeper was a cl man, wh had suffered frm smething in his life. S he asked the by with lve and affectin, “Well, what can yu pay?” Peter reached int his clthes fr mney that was intended fr these tw little guys’ breakfast. Having cunted the mney, Peter put it carefully n the cunter, asking again, “Sir, is it enugh fr my little sister’s dll?”
    The amusing scene just in frnt f the shpkeeper eventually brught a smile n his face. Shaking his head slightly, he replied, “My by, I am afraid it seems nt t be enugh.”

When we began drpping the sybeans t thickly, he wuld crrect us. Under the watchful eye f Grandpa, we planted carefully behind him, sybean after sybean, slwly dwn the rws.
    But as he began t trust us t d it right, Grandpa wrked his way a gd distance ahead f us. Suddenly, as we lked tward him, Mary and I nticed a hllw stump(空心的树桩) up ahead that had nt been cleared frm the field. That’s when a trick started. We lked at the sybeans, lked at the stump and lked at Grandpa. Walking slwly and heavily alng, ne tiny sybean at a time, we came near t the stump. Once we reached it we quickly put mre than a galln f sybeans int the stump and began cvering the whle thing with dirt. Just then Grandpa turned and lked ur way.

Since his bss had been in such a lw md recently that he seldm wre any smile and talked much. When the shpkeeper turned arund and nticed the assistant’s surprised lk, he said smilingly, “lvely kids, aren’t they? When I see the little by is willing t take all he has t buy a dll fr his lvely sister, it really warms my heart.” The assistant replied thughtfully, “When he grws up, he will remember he purchased a dll fr his sister with the shells frm a shpkeeper, which will surely warm his heart, t.”
