Adverbial clauses f time (when)时间状语从句
定义:用来表示时间,修饰主句的从句。引导词:1) 表示某个时刻发生的动作:when、while、as、nce 2) 表示某个时刻之前发生的动作:befre、until3) 表示某个时刻之后发生的动作:after、since
1. when引导从句时,表示从句的动作与主句的动作同时发生。eg. When the bell rings, he gets int the classrm. 当铃声响起时,他进入教室。 When yu were ut, Jack called in. 你出去的时候,杰克来了。 I will tell her the news when I meet her. 当我见到她时,就会把这个消息告诉她。 (当主句是将来时的时候,从句要用一般现在时。)
2. while侧重主从句动作的对比,且从句的动词必须是持续性的。eg. While we were chatting she was reading cmic. 我们聊天时,她正在看漫画。 3. as引导从句时侧重主从句动作同时或几乎同时进行,从句的动作可以是持续性的,也可以是短暂的。eg. Smetimes I watch TV as I am having breakfast. 有时我一边吃早饭一边看电视。
4. 我们也可用after, befre, until, as sn as等连词引导时间状语从句。eg. Befre Mary went t bed, she drank sme milk. 玛丽睡觉前喝了些牛奶。 After he washes his hands, he eats cakes. 他洗手后吃蛋糕。 I didn’t get up until it was 10 a.m. 我直到上午10点才起床。 I will call yu as sn as I get there. 我一到那里就给你打电话。
