1.定义表示经常或习惯性的动作、状态、性能等，表示主语的特征、能力、性格等，表示客观事实或者普遍真理、自然规律。
2. 一般现在时的基本用法1)经常性或习惯性的动作，常与表示频率副词的时间状语连用。表示频度的副词，如：always, ften, usually, smetimes等。表频率的词组，如：nce a year, twice a mnth, three times a week等。表现在的时间状语，如：n Sundays, n Mnday afternn, every day, every year等。 如： I wake up at six ’clck every mrning. My friends ften g t the park n Sundays.
2)表示客观真理，科学原理，自然现象等客观事实。如： The earth mves arund the sun. 地球绕着太阳转。The sun rises in the east every day. 太阳每天从东方升起。The table has fur legs. 桌子有四条腿。There are 50 students in my class. 我们班有50个学生。
3)用于格言或警句中。如：Where there is a will, there is a way. 有志者事竟成。4)用于表示现在时刻的状态、能力、性格、个性。如： She is a gd girl and always helps thers. 她是一个好女孩，经常帮助别人。 My watch is very new. 我的手表很新。
Eg1. 问句： Are these yur English bks? 肯答： Yes, they are. 否答： N, they aren’t.Eg2. 问句： Can yu speak English? 肯答： Yes, I can. 否答： N, I can’t.Eg3. 问句：Des she swim very well? 肯答：Yes, she des. 否答：N, she desn't.
4.一般现在时动词变第三人称单数的变化规则1）一般动词，在词尾加s。如：wrk---wrks, live---lives, play---plays2）以ch, sh, s, x 或 结尾的动词，在词尾加-es。如：teach--- teaches, wash--- washes, g---ges, d---des3）以辅音字母加y结尾的动词，先改y为i，再加-es。如： study---studies, fly---flies4）特殊情况。如：have---has
5.一般现在时特殊用法说明1）表示永恒的真理，即使出现在过去的语境中，仍用一般现在时。如：My teacher tld me that the earth ges arund the sun. 2）在由when, as sn as, befre, if, unless, as lng as等引导的时间或条件状语从句中，用一般现在时代替一般将来时。（主将从现原则） 如：I will tell yu the truth as sn as yu arrive. If it desn’t rain tmrrw, we will have the sprts meeting.
3）在the mre…, the mre …(越……就越……) 句型中, 若主句是一般将来时，从句通常用一般现在时。 如：The mre yu eat, the fatter yu will be.4）在hpe, take care that, make sure that＋宾语从句中，从句用一般现在时代替一般将来时。如：I hpe they have a nice time next week. Make sure that the windws are clsed befre yu leave the rm.
5）位移性动词（词组）如：cme, g, arrive, leave, start, begin, return, live, fly, take ff 等，可以表示按计划将来发生的动作。 如：The train leaves at six tmrrw mrning. —When des the bus start? —It starts in ten minutes.
