Tianjin Eye is a 120-meter-tall Ferris wheel. It lies on a bridge over the Haihe River in Tianjin, China. It is the only Ferris wheel in the world to stand on a bridge. The wheel has 48 cars. Each can take eight passengers. People can get good views of the city during the 30-minute trip.

The Roue de Paris, France

The Roue de Paris looks like all other Ferris wheels. It is about 60 meters tall and has 42 cars. But people can move it. Because of this, the big wheel has been to many other places like Manchester in the UK and Bangkok in Thailand.

Different countries celebrate the New Year in different ways. Many countries still follow the lunar calendar, meaning that their new year often starts in late January or in February. New Year celebrations for some countries (like China, Vietnam, and Korea) last not one day, but up to two weeks!

    In the US, many people attend New Year parties. They drink, dance, and cheer at midnight. In the southern US, many people eat black­eyed peas for good luck in the new year. A short Chinese man is one of the biggest men in the world right now.He is Jack Ma(Ma Yun),the founder of Alibaba Group.On 19th September,2014,Alibaba went public and raised $25 billion.Ma,a former English teacher,has become the richest man in China.

Born in 1964 in Hangzhou,Zhejiang,Ma grew up as a happy kid.When he was a teenager,he wanted to learn English.Every morning,he got up at 5 am,rode his bike for 40 minutes to a hotel near the West Lake and talked with foreign tourists in English.He did it for nine years,rain or shine.

The experience made him an excellent English speaker and also opened his eyes to the outside world.In 1994,Ma Yun heard about the Internet.And on a 1995 trip to the US,Ma was shown the Internet for the first time.He searched the word “beer” on Yahoo,and found that there was nothing there about China.Seeing the chance,Ma returned to China and set up a website called China Pages without even knowing much about computers.
