This summer I attended my first music festival with my friend. Unlike mst f the festival-gers, we didn’t buy tickets. Instead, we vlunteered as festival stewards. We each wrked 3 shifts—each shift was 8 hurs lng—in exchange fr a free ticket t the festival.
Leeds Festival is a large music festival which takes place yearly at the end f August, and thusands f peple attend it each year.
There were several different stages, each catering fr a different music taste: rck, pp, alternative and dance. As well as the fantastic music n ffer, there were als funfair rides, fd utlets and a silent disc. I lved silent discs: everyne had a set f headphnes with tw channels and music was played thrugh the headphnes. As a result, peple culd dance and sing alng t cmpletely different sngs!
While we weren’t wrking, we were free t enjy the festival. We saw a wide variety f artists acrss the weekend. I really enjyed seeing Imagine Dragns, Vampire Weekend and, f curse, Arctic Mnkeys.
We camped fr five nights and it was freezing every night! Hwever, we had a really nice campsite. I had a great time and wuld definitely be returning the next year!

D yu knw abut Psephurus gladius? It’s a Chinese paddlefish knwn as “king f all natinal freshwater fish”. Hwever, it is annunced that the Chinese paddlefish living in the Yangtze River has becme extinct (灭绝的).
